Hey guys. I wanted to address something very serious real quick. I don’t know who knows here but I live in Brazil, and right now things are very tense and going downhill. Our president was deposed and her vice is now provisionally in charge. In less than 48 hours, he caused immense damage. I won’t explain in details but his plans are bound to affect directly education, culture, freedom and safety. Some people have been arrested already only for talking about politics at school. Students have been taken by force by the police for fighting for their rights and the police said they don’t need a warrant to invade anywhere anymore. We are repeating history here. Between 1964 and 1985 our country lived a dictatorsahip. So many people died, no one could talk about the things that were happening because if they did they would torture them and then kill them. Being an artist and an activist was dangerous then. And quite honestly, is just as dangerous now. Is starting to look a lot like we are going back to that dictatorship and I’ve never been more scared in my entire life. I’m an actress and we are presenting The Crucible at college in June, and if you know this play you know it involves a lot of politic critics, which means me and my friends may be in danger. Now all I ask is, if you can PLEASE spread the word that things are getting ugly around here in Brazil. If you don’t live in Brazil, talk to your friends about it, let them know something’s wrong because maybe in the future we’ll heavily need your support. I’m sorry for talking about this here but I’m honestly so scared and I need you guys to know that me and thousands of artists, educators, workers and people in general may be in danger. I wish I was overreacting but history and recent events led me to think otherwise. So spread our word. Let us be heard.
