Born from a long line of powerful witches, Skylar was blessed with the magic his ancestors wielded. Yet despite this rare privilege, he sought for something basic spells and potions simply couldn’t achieve. From a young age, he looked to the clouds above and marveled at the birds soaring through the heavens. Their gift of flight, feathery wings and near angelic appearance made him yearn for such freedom. He didn’t want to spend his life following the rules and regulations enforced by a coven. His true wish was to fade into the sky like an angel. To transcend the mountains and oceans keeping most practitioners of the mystic arts tethered to the terrestrial plane. 

It took him years to discover a magic that would make his wish come true. Skylar stumbled upon ancient texts depicting a way for whoever casts these spells will have their sins washed away by holy light. He was awestruck and incredibly curious. No form of sorcery was ever used before by anyone in recorded history. He could possibly be the first to master such power. Luckily for him, the ability to utilize witchcraft of any form ran through his veins. Skylar managed to decipher the rituals and incantations with relative ease. Now the remaining challenge was to put the knowledge he obtained to action. A task much easier said than done, unfortunately.

Just when Skylar was about to encounter a breakthrough, a creature with snow white fur and floppy ears hopped into his arms. He acknowledged Skylar as its master and together, the two developed a seemingly mutually beneficial relationship. He named his familiar Cassiel who bestowed him with a physical link to the celestial plane. With the final ingredient at his disposal, Skylar declared the price he was willing to pay and called forth an angel for the first time. He was absolutely fascinated to bring such a divine and powerful being into existence. It was everything he could have ever imagined and more. 

Now, Skylar is determined to learn everything he can about angels and the power they possess. So far, he's not had any issues with summoning them but that could very well change the more he taps into this ancient magic.

Tristan laughed, glancing down at the fries and then back at Skylar. "If you think those are good, you should visit me on a night off. I can do a lot more when I'm not limited to the ingredients we keep in the bar," he pointed out, still smiling at the omega. "And no, you don't gotta worry about me bein' intoxicated. I don't imbibe," he joked, shaking his head. He didn't drink, but it wasn't really because he was sober. It just didn't really satiate his thirst. "Of course I do. I'm a lot of things, but a liar ain't one of 'em. If I ever settle down, or if an omega ever settles down with me, he'd find himself bein' pampered more often than not."

It was a welcome change to hear an alpha view the world in the same way Skylar does. He knew the importance of the role omegas played, and believed others should as well. They weren’t items to use and abuse, an opinion many in town don’t seem to share. “I’m sure you’re full of culinary surprises,” the blonde remarked and popped more chili-coated fries into his mouth. He was definitely curious to try more of Tristan’s cooking in the near future. Yet another reason to return to the restaurant. Emerald green eyes fell to the waiter’s name tag, earning an understanding nod from Skylar. “So, Tristan. I don’t think you’re a shifter… certainly not a fae. Nor do you embody an arcane user.” The blonde tilted his head to the side in mild curiosity. He was typically good at being able to distinguish supernaturals, but this one had him stuck. “What exactly are you?”

Walker thought the festival was funny, there was only one deity that held sway with him but that didn't mean he would rain on anyone else's parade. Not that he put too much work into the thing himself he would go and enjoy it every year.

Wandering the streets he drank in the sights, the sounds, the smells. The food was delicious always. He did wish they supplied more bears to be enjoyed, and not the animal kind but that was neither here nor there.

Walker eventually found himself staring at the entrance to the maze, wondering if he was actually going to through it. He looked up when Skylar's voice broke through his thoughts. "You did? Hot and an architectural genius. You never cease to be amazing." Walker laughed and looked back to the entrance of the maze.

"I would be honored to join you and explore your grand design together." Walker offered his hand to the other so they could go together if Skylar wanted.

Architectural  genius  was  a  bit  of  a  stretch,  but  Skylar  never  passed  on  a  compliment.  It  was  much  earned  in  his  opinion,  especially  after  the  hard  work  and  hours  he’s  put  into  the  festival.  To  hear  Walker  say  those  words  was  like  the  icing  on  the  cake.  Praise  coming  from  an  alpha  was  sure  to  brighten  Skylar’s  mood  at  any  given  moment.  “I  find  myself  assaulted  by  your  silver  tongue  once  more,  mister  Delvaux.  I’m  starting  to  feel  spoiled  by  you,”  he  retorted,  clearly  pleased  to  see  the  fellow  witch  appear  and  join  him. 

Taking  the  hand  offered  to  him,  Skylar  proceeded  to  intertwine  their  fingers  together  and  walk  alongside  one  another  towards  the  maze.  The  structure  looked  a  lot  bigger  up  close,  possibly  as  a  means  of  deception  for  those  rising  to  the  challenge.  “Care  to  choose  which  direction  we  go  to  first?”  he  asked,  gesturing  for  Walker  to  lead  the  way.  Syklar  typically  wasn’t  one  for  following  orders,  but  he  wanted  to  test  the  alpha’s  intelligence.  Surely  good  looks  and  eloquent  flattery  weren’t  the  only  things  Walker  was  good  at.  Now  was  the  time  for  the  hereditary  witch  to  prove  himself  capable  of  such  a  task.

Location: Maze Open To: Anyone

Just  like  last  year,  Skylar  dropped  his  usual  obligations  to  help  out  with  the  Fyre  Festival.  He  much  would  rather  hang  ornaments  and  decorate  the  streets  than  sit  in  some  alpha's  boring  office  space  filing  paperwork.  Besides,  as  a  renowned  practitioner  of  the  arcane  arts  —  he  was  inclined  to  partake  in  all  of  the  town's  pagan  holidays.  The  celebrations  were  fun  to  be  a  part  of  as  well.  Skylar  didn't  think  he'd  have  so  much  fun  riding  a  bull.  At  least,  not  the  kind  with  horns  and  hooves.  He's  encountered  enough  of  those  in  the  last  couple  of  weeks  to  last  a  lifetime.  Yet  despite  the  jovial  revelry  and  merriment,  something  sat  heavy  in  his  heart.  Skylar  wasn't  a  shifter,  nor  did  he  particularly  worship  the  goddess  their  community  worshipped.  The  borrower  witch  saw  no  benefit  in  offering  his  devotion  to  a  deity  who  demanded  he  pop  out  babies  at  every  waking  moment  of  the  day.  He narrows his eyes and casts a scornful gaze at the moon.

Dressed  almost  entirely  in  white  except  for  the  brown  leather  sandals  on  his  feet,  Skylar  wanted  to  give  off  the  appearance  that  he  was  a  pure  virgin.  Even  though  he  was  anything  but,  the  borrower  witch  thought  it  fitting  for  the  occasion.  Besides,  Skylar  was  still  in  his  Greek  Twunk  Era  and  linen  just  proved  to  be  a  superior  fabric  he  immensely  enjoyed  wearing.  Making  up  for  the  lack  of  heat  his  sleeveless  shirt  provided,  Skylar  decided  to  don  a  shawl  as  the  sun  began  to  set  and  the  air  became  cooler.  Cassiel  flew  right  next  to  him  as  he  approached  one  of  the  larger  attractions  in  the  festival.  “I  helped  design  the  maze,  you  know,”  he  spoke  to  the  other  supernatural  by  the  entrance.  “So  incredibly  well,  I  unfortunately  doubt  I  can  find  my  way  out  without  flying.”  A  light  chuckle  escaped  him  as  he  began  to  walk  inside.  “Care  to  accompany  me?”

THE BEST AMBUSHES are the ones where the opposing army has no choice but to brave it, and cross the threshold of despair, the narrow ismuths of no return. A bait so insultingly obvious it embarrasses you to have to step in it, for there is nowhere to else to go but forward, toward your inevitable defeat. The General Nikephoros has done many such a masterful strokes in his ancient campaigns, some even recorded in the history books. This ought to be one of them. An intelligent witch entirely aware of the angler fish's luring hook, yet compelled to approach, commanded by his scent. Another notch in the infamous legend of the Sirens.

Keeping well to his side, unmoving, with his arms so recklessly and brazenly spread open behind his head, loose and casual in demeanor as if he was not brandishing a weapon of mass destruction for an omega's dignity. Skylar levitates gently across the bar to sit right next to him, within deadly bite's range of the angler aberration.

"Ah." He says with an up nod of his head at the witch's demands. You can tell how utterly convinced he was by the evergreen grin on the nobleman's countenance. This is politics, by the way. "I see. Mhm. I suppose I do reek. The truth and consequence of a hard-earned day's work." He leans his head into his exposed left armpit, taking in a quick sniff himself, eyebrows shot up above closed eyes in surprise when he sees for himself. Almost a tantalizing dare or perhaps invitation for the omega to try this, too. "Oof. Quite right. You best steer clear then, or it may provoke the other wifely quirks to stir within you."

Curse  his  inexorable  attraction  towards  blatant  displays  of  masculinity.  Skylar  felt  his  cheeks  flush  and  almost  immediately  regretted  the  decision  to  move  even  closer.  Like  a  moth  to  candlelight.  Couldn’t  be  helped,  he  supposed.  The  allure  of  such  a  tempting  invitation  was  difficult  to  resist,  and  he  absolutely  dreaded  knowing  what’s  to  come.  Skylar  knew  he’d  fall  for  his  innermost  desires  sooner  or  later.  His  only  option  now  was  to  suppress  them  for  as  long  as  possible.  “Here  I  thought  the  firemen  of  the  town  knew  better  than  to  leave  the  station  unbathed,”  he  retorted  with  a  shrug  of  his  shoulders  and  clearly  playing  coy.  “Defiling  the  public  with  your  stench.  You  ought  to  be  ashamed,”  the  witch  added,  although  his  nostrils  loving  the  strong  musky  odor  said  otherwise.

 Then  Hector  proceeded  to  sniff  his  pits  of  all  things  and  confirm  he  did  in  fact  reek.  Skylar  felt  his  mouth  start  to  water  and  he  forced  himself  to  look  away.  “What  wifey  quirks?  I  have  no  such  urges,”  he  argued  and  attempted  to  fix  his  gaze  forward.  However,  a  strong  force  compelled  his  eyes  to  look  at  the  merman  again.  Going  against  his  own  volition,  Skylar  simply  silenced  himself  and  threw  a  few  glances  whenever  he  got  a  chance.  Unable  to  resist  any  longer  –  Skylar  rose  up  and  began  to  walk  away,  only  to  turn  around  immediately  with  an  even  more  flushed  expression  than  before.  In  a  matter  of  seconds,  he  firmly  implanted  himself  on  Hector’s  lap  and  straddled  him.  A  deep  shaky  breath  as  he  spoke.  “Or,  you  could…  sit  back  and  let  me  clean  you.  I’d  do  a  really  good  job  and  lick  every  inch,”  the  smaller  blonde  assured  him  and  swallowed  hard.  Again with the inescapable temptations of his second gender. “Saves  the  town  water.”

Tristan couldn't help but beam proudly when Skylar seemed to like the fries in front of him. He was always proud when someone liked what he made them. "Oh, I don't know, witches have never seemed so mysterious to me. They all want the same handful of things, you just gotta know what to look for," he teased, shrugging. "I like to cook for people. I'd do it in a restaurant, but my hours aren't always conducive to that kind of environment," he explained. "The bar gives me the hours I need and a kitchen to work with, and plenty of very grateful drunks to feed. And on the topic of catering to an omega's needs and wants, that's especially my goal. Y'all do a lot for the world, it should be recognized. When you feel good, I feel good, after all."

As  Skylar  ate,  he  listened  to  the  handsome  server  explain  the  reasoning  behind  his  career  choice.  He  never  expected  any  of  Tristan’s  kind  to  be  working  such  trivial  jobs.  And  by  that,  he  meant  alphas  in  particular.  But  he  supposed  everyone  needed  to  pull  their  weight  in  New  Haven  one  way  or  another.  It  just  so  happened  to  fit  with  Tristan’s  lifestyle  and  overall  character.  “Well,  remind  me  to  visit  only  when  you’re  around.  I  like  having  you  personally  tend  to  my  needs.  Plus,  the  fries  are  amazing,”  he  remarked  and  accompanied  the  praise  with  a  chef's  kiss  gesture.  The  witch  leaned  forward,  evidently  intrigued.  He’s  never  had  anyone  regard  omegas  with  such  fervor  and  respect  before.  “Don’t  tell  me  you’re  intoxicated,  as  I’ll  be  very  disappointed,”  Skylar  replied  with  a  chuckle,  close  to  swooning  if  the  vampire  spoke  another  word.  “You  really  mean  that?  About  us  doing  a  lot  for  the  world?”  the  blonde  inquired,  genuinely  curious.

Shaking his head at the offer, Aiden was perfectly content holding onto the pizza boxes in his lap. It helped in cases like this, when Skylar suddenly slammed on the brakes at a red light. The baker held onto the boxes carefully, only blinking in surprise and glancing over to see if his boyfriend wass alright. His eyes remained fixated on the witch as he listened to his response.

Aiden tapped his chin thoughtfully before leaning over and pressing a soft kiss on the other's lips. "...I think I'd be happy to do whatever you'd like and are comfortable with," he said firmly. "If you'd want to start a family, then we can always talk about it when we're both ready. I think waiting for when we're both settled is good, especially if we have to take care of a young one." Aiden paused, staying close to the witch so he could pepper light kisses on his cheek and breathe in the scent of the omega. "But most importantly, I'd be happy no matter what as long as it's with you."

The large man sat back in his chair once the light turned green, making himself comfortable in his spot. "Until then, you can keep trying to stuff me up with your seed. I'd be happy knowing it would be your child inside of me," he said with a small smile. Thank goodness for pizza boxes on his lap, although he was sure his scent and pheromones were filling up the car. "Let's not worry about that future yet if we're not ready for it."

It  was  a  topic  Skylar  has  avoided  discussing  with  anyone  for  almost  his  entire  life.  Every  single  partner  he’s  ever  been  with  was  spared  of  the  conversation  regarding  children  and  family.  His  reasoning?  Skylar  never  wanted  to  fulfill  his  duty  as  an  omega.  He  knew  what  his  role  would  be  in  creating  life  and  the  thought  terrified  him.  Not  to  mention,  he  didn’t  completely  want  to  spend  the  better  part  of  nine  months  carrying  a  baby  in  his  belly  and  endure  the  pain  of  labor  for  several  hours.  Why  should  he  take  on  such  an  endeavor  simply  because  of  the  status  unfairly  assigned  to  him  at  birth?

 Yet  somehow,  those  same  concerns  and  inhibitions  didn’t  apply  to  Aiden.  With  the  dragonblood,  he  felt  comfortable,  safe,  and  cared  for.  Skylar  would  gladly  pop  out  however  many  babies  his  body  was  capable  of  producing.  Must  be  why  he  didn’t  hesitate  to  tease  and  poke  fun  at  the  idea  of  a  family.  Deep  inside  his  heart,  Skylar  knew  he  found  the  perfect  partner  to  spend  a  lifetime  with.  The  fact  that  Aiden  didn’t  pressure  him  to  take  on  the  role  of  a  dame  only  strengthened  this  claim.  “Thank  you  for  understanding.”  He  reveled  in  the  kisses  and  gave  his  boyfriend  a  warm  smile.  “I  think  we’ll  make  great  parents.  Especially  once  we  find  more  stable  footing.”  Skylar  turned  his  gaze  back  to  the  road  and  continued  driving.  “Imagine  a  lovely  little  house  with  kids  running  around…”  the  smaller  blonde  trailed,  admittedly  delighted  by  the  lovely  thought.

 The  witch  let  out  a  bashful  laugh  when  he  heard  Aiden  speak  up  again.  “That  goes  without  saying,  love.”  He  bit  his  bottom  lip  to  showcase  an  unparalleled  desire  to  plow  Aiden’s  ass  repeatedly  without  stopping.  “Unfortunately,  doing  so  won’t  lead  to  either  of  us  bearing  children.  Doesn’t  stop  me  from  trying,  though.”   Skylar  shot  a  wink  at  the  baker  and  turned  one  final  corner  to  pull  over  to  his  parking  spot  at  the  apartment  complex  he  was  staying  in.  “I  should  warn  you;  I  don’t  live  anywhere  fancy.  But  hopefully,  you’ll  enjoy  your  stay  enough  to  eventually  want  to  keep  coming  over.”  He  led  the  way  up  the  stairs  and  unlocked  his  front  door  for  Aiden  to  enter.  “Make  yourself  at  home.  I’ll  get  us  drinks  and  plates.”  The  omega  made  the  short  journey  towards  his  kitchen  and  procured  the  aforementioned  items  as  well  as  some  cutlery.

Tristan grinned at the response, moving to make the omega his drink. "Here, I'll be right back with your fries," he told him, carefully placing a toothpick with a pineapple slice and two cherries speared on it on the rim of the glass. Then he headed back into the kitchen, taking his time preparing the fries. He kept them in the fryer a little extra for that 'crispy' texture, and poured the chili and then the cheese on top of the fries in their little paper boat. He did it up with a few other toppings, some extra shredded cheese over the melted cheese, and brought it out to Skylar with a flourish. Presentation was everything, right? Then he leaned on the bar with his elbows, waiting for Skylar to take his first bite before speaking again. "So you decided to come into a bar, at night, for a drink without alcohol, and some chili cheese fries?" He clarified, raising a brow as he looked at the other.

Once  his  beverage  was  made,  Skylar  beamed  brightly  and  took  a  giddy  sip.  He  never  understood  why  people  loved  adding  alcohol  to  drinks  that  were  already  perfectly  delicious.  A  personal  opinion  he  knew  many  disagreed  with.  Nevertheless,  he  was  content  with  his  icy  beverage  and  nodded  as  the  handsome  waiter  disappeared  into  the  kitchen  for  a  brief  period  of  time.  He  fiddled  with  the  decorative  fruit  on  his  glass  and  patiently  waited  for  his  fries  to  arrive.  His  patience  was  rewarded  shortly  after  when  the  dish  was  served  to  him  with  some  pizzazz.  The  presentation  earned  a  chuckle  with  him,  accompanied  by  an  approving  hum  at  the  first  crispy  bite.  “My  compliments  to  the  chef,”  he  teased  with  an  amused  chuckle.  Skylar  wiped  his  lips  with  a  napkin  before  responding.  “I’m  a  witch.  Our  actions  are  always  shrouded  in  mystery,”  the  blonde  remarked,  smirking  at  the  inquisitive  server.  “I  should  be  asking  you  what  an  alpha  is  doing  working  a  minimum  wage  job.  I  must  admit,  having  your  kind  cater  to  my  needs  and  wants  is  pretty  nice  for  a  change.”

Aiden nodded in response to that promise, given that he wasn't someone particularly fond of eating salads either. But he felt responsible in making sure that Skylar ate well all the same. It was just hard to disagree with whatever the witch wanted; one could say it was the dragonblood's weak spot. As they arrived at the store, he shook his head in response for anything else. There was always something that he could whip up at home anyways if they were hungry for anything else.

He waited patiently in the car, half wondering if he should have gone out to grab the food with Skylar. At times, it felt like he was busy chasing after the other man with how quick and speedy the witch could be. The baker certainly didn't mind, but it made him wonder at times if he was the right alpha to take care of the other man. Would things be better with someone that could operate at the same level as Skylar? Would it become annoying if he processed things too slowly?

His thoughts were interrupted at the return of his lover, only holding out his hands and taking the two hot pizza boxes and holding it on his lap. The added benefit of being both a dragonblood and a baker meant that he was less phased by the heat from the fresh pizzas. He didn't expect the conversation to shift back towards the topic of babies. If Aiden wasn't blushing before, he was certainly a dark shade of red at the thought of Skylar carrying their offspring. The dragonblood cleared his throat shyly, suddenly grateful that the pizza boxes were on his lap. "I... I see. Is it, um, something you'd want soon? Having babies, I mean." The baker realized that it hadn't actually been a topic of conversation, but it was perhaps important to know sooner rather than later.

Having  a  boyfriend  who  was  resistant  to  fire  certainly  had  plenty  of  advantages.  For  one,  he  needn’t  worry  about  burning  the  leather  on  his  car  seats  with  Aiden  around  whenever  they  ordered  takeout.  No  wonder  the  dragonblood  chose  a  career  as  a  baker.  He’s  seen  Aiden  holding  piping  hot  trays  fresh  from  the  oven  with  his  bare  hands  multiple  times  before.  Part  of  him  wished  he  possessed  such  incredible  durability  to  the  elements.  Alas,  he  was  born  to  wield  magic  and  be  vulnerable  to  just  about  every  type  of  damage  in  existence.  “If  you  get  uncomfortable  with  those  on  your  lap,  I  can  pull  over  real  quick.  I  think  there's  a  towel  in  my  trunk,"  he  offered  and  kept  his  eyes  on  the  road.  Another  gentle  squeeze  to  Aiden's  hand  to  show  he  cared  deeply  for  him.

The  next  words  out  of  Aiden's  mouth  caused  the  blonde  to  slam  the  breaks  hard  on  a  red  light.  Luckily,  the  two  of  them  and  the  food  remained  unscathed.  "U-um..."  he  spoke,  unsure  of  what  to  say  at  the  moment.  What  he  thought  was  a  casual  conversation  turned  serious  with  Aiden's  question.  "Soon?  Probably  no,"  Skylar  replied  and  began  to  drive  again.  "I  suppose  once  we're  both  settled  and  I'm  at  a  steadier  point  with  my  magic,  I'll  consider  a  child."  His  cheeks  heated  up  at  the  thought.  A  rosy  hue  now  tinting  his  fair  complexion.  "W-we've  never  discussed  having  a  family  before.  Thought  I'd  bring  it  up  and  get  your  opinion  on  the  matter,"  the  borrower  witch  explained.  "What  do  you  think?"  he  asked,  turning  his  head  briefly  to  the  baker  and  looking  into  Aiden's  eyes.

Lux shuddered, having not thought about those who had been in his situation and not escaped like he had. His father had been focused on raising alphas to follow in his footsteps and keep their name and their reputation alive, that's what he remembered most about growing up in his family home. But if he thought about it, there had been omegas. Here and there, hidden for the most part, used when needed but not really seen as equals. Not really even seen as independent entities, able to have wants and desires and opinions. That was how he'd suddenly felt, like he wasn't even a person, after presenting as an omega. It made him sad now, to think of those who hadn't escaped, what their fates had been.

Turning the conversation to sex made him forget again, though. He pushed the thoughts aside and smiled, looking at the vial. "Then do you take more than one in a day, if you have a few different partners?" He asked curiously, stepping closer to inspect the liquid inside. "I don't know that I need an aphrodisiac. Although if you want to show me how it works, I wouldn't be opposed," he teased, gaze moving from the vial to Skylar's face as he smirked.

"You can fly!" Lux was excited suddenly, eyes widening and smile growing wider. "That's amazing! Will you show me?" He asked, ecstatic at the idea of seeing Skylar floating through the air. Lux couldn't even imagine how incredible that must feel. He almost forgot about the negative connotation he felt regarding the word 'obedient' for a moment, but the realization came back pretty quick, and he shrugged, blushing. "If they were kind, maybe they'd do what you ask because they want to help. Instead of doing it because of a sense of duty, because of obedience. I know I didn't like being obedient, is all. Obedience sometimes meant being hurt, and letting it happen just because I was supposed to. You're not hurting them, are you?"

The  mention  of  different  partners  in  a  single  day  earned  a  hearty  laugh  from  Skylar.  He  meant  no  harm  in  the  gesture,  simply  unfamiliar  to  a  fellow  omega  admitting  to  such  promiscuity  so  openly.  “I’ve…  never  tried,”  Skylar  confessed,  finding  himself  curious  as  well  but  not  daring  enough  to  test  the  theory  personally.  “Although,  if  you  have  multiple  partners  in  a  short  amount  of  time  –  you’ll  most  likely  end  up  with  child  even  with  the  use  of  contraceptives.”  Another  chuckle  escaped  him,  hoping  Lux  didn’t  mind  the  playful  jabs.  He  was  surprised  the  weredeer  hasn’t  conceived  yet.  A  miracle  of  nature,  really.  “Sadly,  I  stand  just  as  much  of  a  chance  impregnating  you  had  I  decided  to  breed  a  bottom  alpha.”  He  let  out  a  heavy  sigh.  Given  how  many  times  Skylar  has  already  tried,  he  knew  the  outcome.

After  being  asked  to  demonstrate  his  abilities,  Skylar  nodded  and  adhered  to  the  weredeer’s  request.  He  closed  his  eyes  to  focus,  removing  any  weight  forced  upon  him  by  gravity  and  levitating  off  the  ground.  The  borrower  witch  hovered  over  to  Lux  and  gracefully  descended  close  by.  “My  power  has  limits,  though.  I  can’t  breathe  if  I’m  too  high  up.  Trying  will  only  get  me  a  one-way  trip  to  heaven  where  my  angels  reside,”  he  explained  with  a  grimace  at  the  thought.  Skylar  wasn’t  ready  to  enter  the  celestial  realm  just  yet.  Not  when  there  was  so  much  work  left  to  be  done  on  the  material  plane.

What  Lux  said  next  caught  the  blonde  off  guard.  He  never  thought  about  his  summons  being  treated  poorly.  As  a  matter  of  fact,  Skylar  doubted  they  had  any  emotions  whatsoever.  Except  maybe  violence,  as  evidently  demonstrated  earlier  today.  “I’m  kind  to  them.  They’re  like  my  children,”  Skylar  assured  him  with  a  warm  smile.  He  hasn’t  even  considered  laying  a  malevolent  hand  on  his  creations  just  to  enforce  obedience.  “Believe  me,  if  my  angels  get  hurt  –  then  so  will  I.  The  type  of  magic  I  use  can  be  fickle.  Whenever  my  summons  are  slain  in  battle,  I  take  damage  as  well.  Hence  why  I  declare  the  cost  of  my  life  I’m  willing  to  pay  when  I  call  their  name,”  he  spoke,  explaining  the  nature  of  his  magic.  Fortunately  for  Skylar,  he  was  yet  to  suffer  the  repercussions  of  such  an  exchange.

"Oh, shit, hi," Tristan seemed almost taken aback, only having come out of the kitchen for a few moments to get himself a soda. He looked around, not seeing the bartender, and then back at the individual who seemed to have just come into the pantheon bar. "Um, I guess I can get you a drink? I'm not, like, a mixologist, but I do my best," he reassured the other with an easy smile. "Or if you're hungry, I could definitely whip you up something in the kitchen," he gestured over his shoulder, at the door he'd entered the bar from. "I mostly get orders from people who've had a few drinks already, but I make more than just good drunk foods," he teased.

After  a  long  day  at  work,  Skylar  felt  as  though  he  deserved  a  drink.  He  wasn’t  much  for  alcohol,  preferring  fruity  beverages  than  anything  strong  enough  to  knock  him  into  a  coma.  A  lightweight,  in  modern  terms.  The  blonde  sat  on  an  empty  stool  and  leaned  over  the  counter  to  look  for  the  bartender,  only  to  find  nobody  working  currently.  He  raised  a  brow  in  mild  annoyance  and  opened  his  mouth  to  demand  service  when  someone  from  the  kitchen  appeared  to  address  him.  “Oh,  shit,  hello  to  you  too,”  the  borrower  witch  retorted  with  a  small  snicker  of  amusement.  Chin  now  rested  on  his  knuckles,  Skylar  shrugged  and  accepted  the  offer.  “Am  I  permitted  to  have  both?  I’m  thirsty  and  hungry,”  he  claimed  with  a  cheeky  grin.  “Piña  colada  –  virgin.  And  chilli  cheese  fries,  crispy  please.”  Nothing  like  artery-clogging  delicacies  every  once  and  a  while.  Especially  when  such  a  delectable  alpha  was  serving  them  to  him.

"Yes. My family has a predilection for the darker sides of magic, it is just where our talents lie, though really power is not good nor bad, simply how you use it. I can promise you the Delvaux family has never used our powers in any way that would harm this town." The Delvaux mansion held the secrets of centuries, many dark and taboo things. From a young age Walker had been upset his magic wasn't beautiful or dazzling like his friend's, he couldn't command fire, or spin light, conjure dreams, no his magic was destruction. It was ugly and dark. As he grew though he had learned to love it, it was a gift from his bloodline. Each strain of magic passed down a building block from the one before. He took the decay of his grandfather's necromancy and for him it manifested in corrosion and poison.

"The council is the most powerful of us right? I am sure our representative would have no issue dispelling such a simple spell as that one. It was nothing nuanced or special just pure consumption. I am sure you could have resisted it easily. Any magical barrier would have warded it off." Walker leaned his face into the pat on his cheek, a fond smile on his lips. "Where I shine is potions and crafting instruments made for performing magic. Funnily enough I never felt the need to brew contraceptives when faeries make such effective ones. But I have quite a roster. I would love to show you sometime, I fear my display still pales to yours and I would hate for you to think me weak."

That  was  a  notion  Skylar  shared  a  firm  belief  in.  He  didn’t  particularly  agree  how  some  types  of  magic  should  be  banned  from  being  practiced.  What  separated  witches  from  other  races  was  their  inclination  to  learn  and  grow.  Knowledge  was  power.  Prohibiting  the  transfer  of  information  from  one  to  another  by  keeping  it  a  secret  seemed  counterproductive  in  his  honest  opinion.  Alas,  he  held  no  such  authority  in  the  matter  and  knew  to  keep  his  mouth  shut  lest  there  be  repercussions  for  being  a  highly  opinionated  omega.  “I’m  quite  happy  you  showed  me  your  talents.  I’m  a  lot  less  judgemental  than  the  more  seasoned  members  of  our  town,  so  you  needn’t  worry  about  me  letting  anything  slip,”  he  explained,  assuring  Walker  with  a  comforting  smile.  The  blonde  wasn’t  weary  of  the  destruction  necromancy  caused.  It  was  necessary  in  the  balance  of  the  world  and  the  process  of  creation.

Skylar  shook  his  head  slowly  at  the  assumption.  “I’m  afraid  abjuration  isn’t  my  forte.  I  could  have  conjured  an  angel  to  protect  me  from  your  attack,  but  summoning  shields  and  barriers  proved  to  be  quite  difficult  in  the  past,”  the  omega  explained,  unashamed  to  admit  his  shortcomings  with  the  arcane  arts.  He  was  no  master  magician  but  held  his  own  special  talents  no  other  witch  possessed.  “Instruments?”  Skylar  asked,  mildly  intrigued.  “Like  magical  items?”  He’s  always  been  fascinated  with  enchantment.  To  imbue  a  mundane  object  with  power  was  no  easy  feat.  Potion  brewing  was  also  an  artform  in  and  of  itself.  “Ah,  I’m  afraid  I  don’t  trust  contraceptives  if  they  weren’t  concocted  in  my  cauldron  at  home.  Personal  choice.  I’m  sure  the  ones  the  fae  create  are  just  as,  if  not  more  effective  than  mine.”  The  blonde  was  happy  to  accept  the  invitation,  especially  if  he’d  get  to  see  the  Delvaux  manor  in  person.  “Who  am  I  to  refuse  such  a  tempting  proposition?  You’ve  impressed  me  thus  far,  I’m  sure  you’ll  continue  to  do  so.”

Walker respected prowess and power no matter who it came from, who was to say an omega couldn't be a force to be reckoned with? So long as they were willing to have kids and let that power be felt by younger generations, it was admirable for them to continue to seek more in this life. "I would say even angels would grow envious in the presence of such a beautiful countenance Skylar, but in that same breath, I am sure more than just angels heed your whims hm? I am sure I'd be weak to your demands with he right plying of your charms." Walker winked at Skylar as he let his grimoire float in front of him flipping through pages.

H was serious when he said he couldn't do anything so dazzling or beautiful as Skylar had, his magic was very much not a beautiful sight. "My grandfather dabbled in necromancy, and while I don't make the dead dance I do take a bit of a page out of his grimoire. Hopefully you can enjoy the subtleties of it." Most of his magic was curses, hexes, and potions for better or worse. Deciding on a little patch of earth, in the opposite direction of Skylar so as not to even accidentally harm the other he held out his hand, "Devour all." the greenish light of his magic poured forth and did as he asked, everything the light touched decayed, corroded, or began to dissolve in it's wake. Plates not just withered by the ground below them as well, fetid and aged a thousand years in a few moments, every speck of life in the cone his magic had touched was destroyed.

"Not very fun for parties but effective when I need to get rid of people." he said turning back to see if the other had enjoyed himself even in the slightest. "I am much more varied at brewing positions than I am spells. Shall we have dinner then? I'd be happy to spend more time in your company tonight."

More  claims  of  admiration  and  praise  left  Walker’s  pretty  lips.  The  creatures  Skylar  summons  were  by  no  means  angelic  in  appearance,  as  they  possessed  aberrant  physical  traits.  Nevertheless,  he  was  proud  that  his  magic  could  bring  forth  such  beings  into  the  material  plane  in  the  first  place.  Skylar  doubted  many  had  the  power  to  accomplish  such  feats.  “You  flatter  me,  Sir  Delvaux,”  he  remarked  with  a  playful  smirk.  “Do  you  mean  to  sweep  me  off  my  feet?”  Part  of  him  didn’t  particularly  mind.  So  rarely  did  alphas  take  the  time  to  compliment  his  looks.  Most  simply  go  straight  to  the  breeding  portion  of  their  interactions.  Skylar  enjoyed  some  back  and  forth  to  shake  things  up  a  bit.  Especially  with  a  polite  and  proper  fellow  witch  like  Walker.

Having  no  coven  of  his  own,  Skylar  never  understood  the  advantages  of  hereditary  magic.  Whilst  his  own  powers  were  passed  down  from  a  long  line  of  witches,  he  was  never  granted  special  privileges  or  a  prestigious  surname  to  flaunt.  The  accomplishments  he  achieved  were  his  alone.  No  member  of  his  family  has  ever  helped  him.  “Necromancy…”  Skylar  repeated  and  blinked  a  few  times  in  surprise.  Most  if  not  all  magical  institutions  prohibited  the  practice  of  such  dark  arts.  To  meddle  in  the  affairs  of  life  and  death  was  extremely  taboo.  The  consequences  according  to  history  have  been  dire  for  the  caster.  Still,  he  forced  himself  to  smile  and  pushed  aside  any  reluctance  to  fully  focus  on  Walker’s  presentation.  “I’m  ready  to  be  impressed!”  he  exclaimed  and  urged  the  alpha  on.

His  eyes  twinkled  with  wicked  interest  when  Walker  performed  the  spell.  Within  seconds,  the  area  of  the  forest  was  seemingly  depleted  of  life  after  the  burst  of  green  energy.  Skylar  backed  away  just  a  little  to  avoid  further  contact  with  the  radius  of  the  explosion  even  when  he  was  a  solid  distance  away.  “Incredible!”  he  remarked,  grinning  wildly.  “Don’t  let  the  Council  hear  about  you  casting  such  dangerous  magic,  though.”  Luckily,  the  conjurer  wasn’t  someone  who  liked  to  kiss  and  tell.  Skylar  stood  up  and  approached  the  alpha.  “Wouldn’t  want  to  see  your  pretty  face  exiled  from  the  town.”  The  blonde  reached  up  to  pat  Walker’s  cheek  in  a  tender  manner.  “I  think  that’s  where  we  differ.  I’m  terrible  at  potions,  but  I  do  concoct  my  own  contraceptives  every  so  often.  I’ve  not  conceived  yet,  so  I’m  sure  they’re  effective.”
