As Skylar took a step back, her dark auburn hues glanced in the mirror, while uncertain if this was what she wanted to wear tonight. It had been a while since she went to any sort of function or party, not that was much her scene anyways. Hollywood was so uncultivated and sometimes Skylar never felt like she truly fit or would truly make her mark. She loved music and being part of The Firehawk Divas, but a lot of what came with it could be a little much to handle. “ What do you think, too dull?” The question slid from her lips as, a small smile sat between the rims of her mouth. Skylar spun around and faced the blonde. Most wouldn't have expected the two to be so close, especially considering how her band mate felt about Alexa but Skylar liked her from the moment the two ran into each other at the studio a while back.Â

BIO
A large amount of singers in the Entertainment industry come from families who have been a part of it for decades, however that is not the case for Skylar. Skylar came from a low-income family who could barely make ends meet, with her mom working two jobs just to put food on the table, however, their home was filled with love and happiness. Skylar was raised by her single mom and handicapped grandmother, but despite the hardships, they made it work somehow.Â
At an early age it became clear there was a star in the making. When her mother would cook dinner, Skylar would have full on performances in the kitchen, and it was evident  the talent she possessed. Whatever chance she got, she would sing her heart out. Because they didn’t have money to spare, finding the right coaches to help train her voice became a task. Eventually Skylar’s mother took a payment out of the mortgage to pay for lessons because she knew how important music was to her. Â
Later when her grandmother fell ill, her life changed forever. Because Skylar’s mother took out a mortgage payment ,they now were unable to pay the house note and doctor bills and was eventually evicted from their home. After the eviction, they lived in housing assistance.Â
Due to her embarrassment of their financial situation, Skylar never invited any friends over. When she turned fourteen her grandmother died and soon her mother blamed her for the death, insinuating if her mother hadn't taken money  out of the mortgage to feed Skylar’s hobby, they would of had more money to use towards better doctors.  It did not take long for Skylar’s home environment to turn toxic and most days she spent crying over her mother’s harsh words, until eventually she moved to live with her aunt.
The move was difficult at first, but good for her. Ninth grade was pretty uneventful. Skylar remained under the radar while continuing to try to purse her music. It wasn’t until tenth grade when she met Aria Hart, that her life changed in ways Skylar would have never imagined. Skylar along with Aria met a few girls and they created their own girl band known as “The Firehawk Divas” They soon became a huge sensation at school and eventually began booking gigs around the state. Companies started to notice, and when they were seventeen, they signed to Disney. The girls were immediately taken out of school to begin to work on their debut album.Â
Skylar’s aunt was the mother  she never really had, so supportive of them and made sure the contracts were not taken advantage of them, after all she was a lawyer. Skylar’s mom has tried to get back in her life, but she is unsure if she can trust her mom or does her mom just like the popularity the girls have gained.
The girls have blown up in the last couple of years. They won a Grammy for “Best Girl Group” and were nominated for album and song of the year, as well as being featured on the biggest talk shows and magazine covers, and sometimes Skylar wishes she would get as much attention as Aria does. Aria is what you would call the Beyonce of the group, but like Aria, Skylar has powerhouse vocals and sometimes feels that is under-looked.Â
Skylar hates confrontation so keeps her thoughts to herself. Recently, Aria stepped away away from the music industry placing the The Firehawk Diva’s sophomore album on hold, which has only angered Skylar, once aging making her feel like everything centers around Aria.
