alex hadn’t talked to her ex-wife in what felt like forever. between trying to improve the club, the storm and the events lakeview had been put through, it hadn’t really felt like much of a priority. especially not after the other started to avoid her. at least that was what alex suspected she was doing. not that she really knew. the text from maya had set off some alarms. maybe mostly because she hadn’t heard from her in a while. so alex made her way to the coffee shop, almost preparing herself for the worst. while they had split a while ago, the divorce was barely even finalized, and maya still held a special place in alex’s heart. if something really was wrong — alex would be there to help out in a heartbeat.

making her way into the coffee shop, alex was growing more and more worried. worst case scenarios kept playing on repeat in her head as she laid eyes on maya sitting at one of the tables. “look, i don’t have a lot of time, we’re cleaning up after the storm and i–” a frown spread on her face as her jaw dropped slightly, noticing the bump she had grown since she last saw her. “that’s — new.” alex almost mumbled, not even knowing if maya heard her as she approached the table.

maya noticed the shock on alex’s face and the entire bump because more evident as she stood to hug her ex wife. “hey, al.” she mumbled wrapping her arms around the other. “it’s new but it’s not really new. they’ve been in there a good few months now, i thought i should tell you. i thought that you deserved to know, you’re one of the good ones al and i’m sorry that i kept this from you, i guess i just didn’t know how to tell you.” she placed a gentle hand on her bump and smiled down, she loved her babies so much already and she really couldn’t imagine her life going in any other direction than this.

maya had decided that today was the day that she would tell alex that she was pregnant, she didn’t know why it was so tough for her but it probably had a lot to do with the fact that she was still married to the other when her babies were conceived and she wasn’t sure if that changed anything. she wasn’t sure if telling alex was the right thing to do but she felt for some reason that the other had a right to know. she had texted her to come to the coffee shop since she was working and she had worn something more figure hugging for the first time in the entire pregnancy so you could see clear as day that she was very pregnant. she was pacing but that wasn’t helping her stress levels so she sat and waited for alex to arrive.

maya has always lived in lakeview and honestly probably always will.

maya came out as a lesbian at the age of eighteen but has since decided not to label herself as she loves who she loves.

maya got married to alex rhodes and they were perfect for each other at the time but after five years of marriage they went their separate ways but they are still friends and maya of course still has alex’s surname.

maya slept around a little after the marriage broke up and she ended up falling pregnant from a one night stand.

here’s the kicker, maya is pregnant with not one, not two but THREE babies. they are all girls and she has names picked out for each one. we have freya, ophelia and willow.

maya hasn’t told alex that she is pregnant, she is now 25 weeks pregnant and alex still doesn’t know. she knows that she won’t carry to term so she should really tell her soon. it’s getting very hard to buy clothes that are baggy enough to conceal a triplet bump.

maya owns the coffee shop in town and it’s hard for her at the minute to not drink as much coffee as she usually would and it’s getting harder for her to work behind the counter, she spends a lot of her time sitting down.

I received a letter in the mail the other day about the bar’s business license..” he spoke. “Usually Joanna takes care of all of that, but, I want to be more helpful. I thought maybe you could lead me in the direction of where I was supposed to go.”

“okay, so i will get you in touch with david who handles all of the licences for the businesses in town and he will be able to talk you through exactly what needs doing. it’ll be to do with your liquor licence and your catering licence i would guess but david will have more of an idea for you.” dylan looked up from her phone with a smile and wrote down the number for thomas. “if you give him a call he’ll get you in the right direction.” she placed her phone on the desk and looked up again. “how are you? i know it’s been a tough few months for you. if there’s anything i can do for your family, please let me know.”

dylan was born and raised in lakeview, she had one older sister who moved away when she was eighteen (dylan was five) and didn’t look back so dylan hasn’t seen her since.

dylan’s dad was the mayor until he was 60 and she was almost 30 and she took over from him.

dylan doesn’t exactly love her job but she’s doing what she has to do, she knows that if she didn’t do it, her dad would be disappointed and she doesn’t want that.

dylan’s mom died just three weeks ago so she’s dealing with that at the same time as all of the murders and attacks.

dylan deals drugs, despite being completely clean herself (for now)

dylan’s dad moved out of the mayoral mansion and left it to her but she doesn’t know what to do with all the space she now has (she moved out of a one bedroom apartment)

dylan feels like she’s not had sex in so long that she has been revirginised, she is on a lot of dating apps but people don’t seem to be interested because of her job.
