The next 3-ish chapters will technically take place all on the same day, but usually, we have a time jump of at least 1 month in between chapters.

The Sith Empire reigns supreme in the galaxy, despite the efforts of the struggling Rebel Alliance. The Jedi are all but extinct. Darth Sidious, known to his subjects as Emperor Sheev Palpatine, has everything he desires... except a true heir. His bastard son, Darth Vader is determined to overthrow his father and claim the throne for himself. But before his plans can be put in motion, he meets Padmé Amidala and decides to adjust his plans to claim her as well. Given the choice between marriage and death, Padmé Amidala chose the former and has, for nearly ten years, been living in hell for it as she fails to conceive the heir her Emperor and husband craves. Broken and desperate, she seeks out Vader for help, unaware of just how deep his ambitions run.

is more drama or action coming in I Can’t Say I’m Innocent?

Yes, there will be a healthy amount of drama and a few generous helpings of action sprinkled in there. Padmé still has a long road to recovery and we’re planning to cameo a character we’ve never had in one of our fics before. A couple of them, actually. We’re just under a third of the way through, and this story spans roughly 4 years, so... yeah. There’s a lot still to come.

What do you think of a Empire AU where the Trade Federation attempts to take over Naboo years later when Vader is about 16 and Amidala 21 and on her 2nd term as queen. Vader and 501st are assigned to handle it, and he orders his troops to storm the palace and rescue the queen while he destroys the droid control ship. On his way, he meets a pesky handmaiden who insists on going with him. (1)

Three years later the emperor wants his heir to find a consort. Top contenders for the emperor are probably Miraj Scintel and Queen Amidala, someone with royal blood. Anyway Vader doesn't know that the queen at the palace back then was a decoy and that the handmaiden he had a connection with is actually Amidala. He hates Scintel because she's a slaver, but the thought of marrying the queen and having to live with the handmaiden he loves nearby might be more painful. Rebel Alliance probably existed at this point but didn't do anything. Either because they saw Naboo a lost cause, or they wanted Trade Federation to cripple the Empire (despite not being a supporter of the TF), or some other shady reasons.

So, we talked it over, and while there is potential, we can’t see ourselves writing it. The twist is pretty obvious since it’s derived from the movie, and there’s not really much plot to it, per se. Anyway, maybe it could be a one-shot, and we’d love to see someone else tackle it, but right now, our main priorities are getting I Can’t Say I’m Innocent continuously published and working on our newest project.

Anakin shook his head and tried to focus on Ahsoka’s positive vibes and energy, as she talked about how she had already made a “board” in Pinterest for baby shower ideas. Whatever Pinterest was. And there was already frosting in Korkie’s hair.

“How does he do that so fast?” Padmé asked in alarm.

Satine chuckled as she grabbed a napkin to clean her son’s hair. “Children will never be completely clean. We always need a few extra changes of clothes when we go out. They get dirty with everything. You blink and they’re playing in the mud.”

“Why does there have to be mud? Can’t we just keep them indoors?”

“Well, since I was denied the opportunity at a bridal shower,” Jobal said pointedly as she reached into her oversized bag. “Perhaps you’d like to see the kinds of messes you made as a baby, Padmé?”

All the blood drained out of Padmé’s face as she stabbed the cake and tried to pull the giant scrapbook out of her mother’s hands. “Mother, no.”

“Anakin, do you want to see?”

“If you say yes, I’m divorcing you, Skywalker!” Padmé threatened as her father held her back.

“Call her bluff!” Sola chimed in on the teasing.

Anakin pouted. “No, I’m never calling her bluff. She has too many hormones in her for me to do that.” Ahsoka laughed.
