War ripped the IV’s out nonetheless. She didn’t like being put under in the infirmary. She was hyperventilating a little but Ocelot’s presence helped to calm her down. She took a couple of deep breaths before speaking. “I…they were expecting us. They had to have been. So much happened so fast. One moment it was quiet and the next half the men were dead.”

“I see.” He nodded, frowning a bit. “I’ll have an intel team looking forward this. I’ll discover who gave away the information or how they discovered our plans.” Adam got up, walking from side to side for a moment. “You’ll be here for a while, resting.”

“Hm.. that’s interesting.” Adam nodded, looking through the files. “And worrying as well. I suppose I’ll have to send someone from the Intel team to check it closer..” Facing the woman again, he raised a brow. “Would you like to go? It’s a very dangerous job.”

If Julia had wanted safer operations, she wouldn’t have joined this ragtag bunch of misfits. No, she was here to actually make an impact. With a smile playing at the corners of her mouth, she offered a short nod. “Your wish is my command. I go wherever I am needed.”

“My team?” Yeah that figured. Of course the one corrupted guy would be on her team. Thanks, Boss. Shifting her weight, War tried to think back to anyone who had acted out of the ordinary. “Alright, but I want to be there with you when you do it. It was my team that got screwed over.”

“Surely.” he nodded. “But when I start my interrogation, I won’t allow you to interfere. This is my job, and it isn’t a good thing to be seen by a person with a weak stomach.”

He faced her again. “I want you to help me with this, bring me someone who you think that might have been acting strange in your team, I’ll personally interrogate them.”

He placed his hands on his lover’s waist. “Shh..” Adam kissed his lips gently, slowly, keeping him close and bouncing side to side. “I need you too.”

Mike happily returned the kiss and wrapped arms around other’s waist too. Gently rubbed his back.  “I’ve thought about you all this time…” He whispered.

“I know.. I’m sorry for being away for this long.” He rubbed their noses together and pecked another kiss. “I won’t leave you again.”

Solemnity sat better on him that a taunting smirk. It helped her relax, before she turned back to her desk, raising a box of tapes to get at the required file. Setting the box back down, she turned to face him, envelope in hand. “No further skirmishes reported so far, but there’s no telling how long that will hold. There’s more action coming from the PDPA than the Soviets.”

The infirmary reminded her of what they did to her in the MES. She never willingly went into any medical facility ever. They had sedated her as soon as they brought her in to keep her from freaking out. When she woke up a little while later, she awoke with a gasp, not recognizing where she was. War immediately started to panic a bit, her heart rate increasing rapidly on the monitor. Looking at her left arm, she saw all the IV's leading into her wrist. Frightened, she grasped the IV’s, intending to rip them out.

“Calm down.” He said in a serious, loud voice, placing his hands on her bed. “You’re fine, you were too hurt and we had to sedate you for medical procedures, that’s all.” Adam sighed. “How are you feeling? That was surely a close call, War.. What happened in that place?”
