For context, I'd sadly lost my memories at the time, so I was married to a different man than Adam at the time.
My husband then was horrible. He slept around, spent all our money on cigars and wine, and didn't even have the decency to get a job. And he claimed it was all because of something I couldn't even control!
Still, I thought I loved him nonetheless (it was actually Adam that I loved, of course. The two looked so alike I must have subconsciously thought he was my true husband) and so I put up with his behavior because it made him happy. Then, on his birthday, he and one of his favorite lovers mysteriously passed away, and my father fell ill soon after. He died in a few months, unfortunately.
At the time, I was distraught. Now, naturally, I feel less strongly about it- it's been many, many years, after all.
