i think it's absolutely bullshit that gooseworx got banned, but i have already seen some people call criticism of tadc and gooseworx's past a harassment campaign that mass reported her and is the reason why she is no longer on the platform.
people. PEOPLE. as a tadc fan who is also tadc critical and has been interacting with that side of tumblr a lot as of late, not once have i ever seen anyone say we should report goose or that they reported goose for her actions. a lot of the things we criticized about her were about her show, which is on youtube, and the stuff she's said on other sites like twitter. not once have i seen anyone say they want her deplatformed, either-- only for her to take accountability, with a majority of us recognizing that she likely never will.
we don't know why she was banned, but we do know that staff has a habit of banning women for nothing other than the crime of being transgender and hiding behind the idea that they're inherently sexual content or something. goose, as a trans woman with a large platform and who creates content targeted at adults, was always going to be at risk for an unjust ban.
staff is transphobic. we know that staff is transphobic in general and that they've been gleefully showcasing their transmisogyny in particular.
the answer to this is to speak out about it and make sure staff knows we're angry about their transmisogyny.
the answer is NOT "this is all because a bunch of wokers decided to call her racist!"
genuine criticism does not make you a transmisogynist oh my word.
