Oh and you're in an all girl group and the only person in the entire class researching female playwrights. Under literally any other circumstance you would be thrilled to be researching them but now even that's ruined and you feel like an idiot for complaining.

Reading the Eridian masterdoc and all you big Adrian fans would be HAPPY to know it is mentioned that Eridians can get up to roughly 400 kg (232 kg more than Rocky). There isn't a smallest size mentioned, but being on a space travel mission with an extremely hefty species it's a safe bet they went with smaller Eridians to save fuel... big Adrian is honestly extremely likely to be canon.

For reference, Rocky's roughly the size of a labrador retriever. Add more than 200 kg of rock to that you have a refrigerator sized Eridian.

edit: i also wanna note that the specific phrasing ("on the order of 400 kgs" = roughly 400kgs) made it seem like it was, while definitely the upper size of the species, still not necessarily THE largest yknow? Like the Eridian equivalent of being 6'3". Yeah bigger exist but that tends to be outliers... Give me 450 kg Adrian just bc.

something something Project Hail Mary heavily reflects the Orpheus myth but Earth is Eurydice. There's a specific version of the myth where Eurydice almost makes it to the surface, but Orpheus accidentally turns around too early that reminded me of Grace heading to Earth slightly too early. If he and Rocky had stayed in Tau Ceti to trial run how the taumeoba reacted in their environment long term then he likely would have made it back to Earth. He just turned around a little too early.

WARNING!!! I am in finals season so I don't have a whole lot of energy or time to write much because I also work lol. We're in the final stretch though, but I'm still in the thick of it. I already have a few chapters written up in what little freetime I do have, so I've been working on getting the ao3 post set up :)!

This is also like my second fic I've ever posted to ao3, and the first multichapter fiction piece I've written, so if there's editing errors my bad.

I'll hopefully have some time tomorrow to get the first chapter up. I'm not entirely sure how long the fic will end up being, and it will NOT have a real upload schedule, but it's really fun to write and I have an idea of where I'm going with things :).

Iron lung is really good and super cool for so many reasons not only if judged as a piece of art in a vacuum but also for everything surrounding it and what it symbolizes as an indie project made by a guy who just wanted really bad to make it and the talented crew and all the years that lead him up to this point, the history behind the guy. What a genuinely super awesome accomplishment this is, it's so wonderful.

But also. It is a little funny that now there will be 8 billion fanarts of markiplier covered in blood

I know I’ve already lamented about this so many times but I’m gonna do it again bc it’s MY blog and IM gonna be autistic about horror movies.

God I literally cannot emphasize how much I love Iron Lung. Even outside of being a Markiplier fan, my favorite things ever are passion projects. You can tell that there is an insurmountable amount of love and care that went into this film. You can tell that literally every part of it was made with the utmost passion that I feel like only other creatives seem to recognize. I can see the hours poured into even the smallest details and I adore it. I honestly think Iron Lung has changed my standards for films. It had a very clear goal from the beginning, make an enjoyable horror movie that was loyal to the source material, and it managed to hit it out of the ballpark. Iron Lung has definitely wormed its way into my top 5 movies, and I feel that would have been the case if I had never heard of Markiplier before. If you had a role in this movie you should be proud!! You did excellent work, I can tell so much effort went into this movie despite the small budget (less than 5 mil for some absolutely insane CG is astounding! The render farm more than paid off mark!!! I want to give all of the artists for this movie a big ol forehead smooch cause HOLY SHIT I can’t stop thinking about the hallucination/vision scene!!!)

I am going to be thinking about this movie for a long time. Thank you EVERYONE who had a part in making this film possible. Know that the blood (ha), sweat, and tears that was poured into this film was worth it. I want literally everything you can physically give me in the blu-ray special features.
