“more than a week…” theo spoke quietly as he sat down. standing for too long was difficult. he still had the taste of mercury in his mouth, from when he had been coughing it earlier.
he looked up at scott, his eyes meeting the other’s. he could tell scott really trusted him now, but it still felt surreal. after everything that happened in the past. scott was just that good of a person, and sometimes it was mildly annoying – today, he was thankful for it.
“you really wanna do this? help me?” theo asked once again, just to make sure. “i… i don’t even know if there’s a solution to this problem. i’ve thought about it already. maybe i was designed like this on purpose. maybe they were planning to get rid of me at some point anyway, and set me up for failure –” he sighed.
“theo, you should have brought this to me a while ago,” he sighs, rubbing at his cheek. he notices the way he has to sit, how he looks ill just from standing. he doesn’t like to see it, and he hopes they can find a cure.
he shakes his head at the other’s suspicions. “no, that doesn’t make sense. despite all else they were capable of, i’m pretty sure that one’s impossible. there’s no way they could have calculated when they wouldn’t need you anymore. you were their WEAPON, theo. you were their success, they wouldn’t throw you away.” of course, it’s not an unknown concept for them to throw away chimeras when they were no longer of use to them, but the dread doctors were destroyed long before making that decision.
“we’ll look together. we’ll figure somethiing out, i promise you.”
