why limit yourself between choosing between a pretty feminine aesthetic or a dark one? if persephone can be the goddess of spring & queen of the underworld at the same time so can you

Bellamy: Really like talking on the radio??

lorde: dark entity summoned by victorian occultists
lady gaga: diva possessed by the spirit of a modern art exhibit
beyonce and solange: the sun and the moon

blarke is amazing representation because clarke is bi and bellamy is a south east asian man, so no, it would not be “refreshing” if they “stayed friends” but if they actually…you know, got together, considering the fact that there has NEVER been a single canon romantic relationship between a bisexual woman and south east asian man on tv.
marper really saw blecho as a couple and lived with them both for six years and were like “yeah so clarke and bellamy are the couple we’ll trust to look out for our kid” what icons

I just ADORE this scene. Because it’s clear in almost every aspect of Stiles’ character that Stiles has always felt second in importance to the Sheriff’s job. The job is not just what the Sheriff does, it’s who he is, and his role as Stiles’ father often seems to come second to that. So Stiles drives himself to school and puts himself to bed and makes sure his dad eats healthy and does all these other parentified things, and one of the lowest points in his life is when he costs the Sheriff his job. The Sheriff telling Stiles that not only is he important, but that he’s MORE important than the job – than the whole STATION – that the straight-laced, rule-following Sheriff would burn the station to the ground and break every law to protect Stiles? That’s just amazing, and it was exactly what Stiles needed to hear more than anything just then.
“We regularly ask teenage girls to read books in which characters degrade women, expecting them to understand that the book’s other merits outweigh its misogyny. To set such an expectation and not consider its effect on young women is foolish and hypocritical; we rarely expect young men to do the same, and hardy ever expect young white men to read extensively in traditions where their identities aren’t represented or are degraded. We need to reflect on the way the literature we celebrate supports the idea that women who are sexually frustrated create problems for themselves, while men in the same situation create problems for the world. Though the links are subtle, our celebration of a canon of sad white boy literature affects the way we think, and how much tolerance we offer to men like [Alek] Minassian and [Elliot] Rodger.”
— Erin Spampinato, from this article on the correlation between celebrated literary canon and the ‘incel’ culture that has arisen in online spaces (Jun. 2018)

one of my favorite more ridiculous parts of mamma mia is that like, before they get to the island and meet Sophie….Sam, Bill and Harry really, truly thought Donna had invited them there herself. They hadn’t spoken to this woman once in 20 years, but they honestly thought she sat down and went “Hmm, my daughter is getting married in three days, do you know what I need right now???? Some Dick™. And I know just who to call for it!” and then they all immediately dropped every thing and rushed over to Greece to see her. amazing.
