I don't know if I'm not enjoying this game because I'm depressed, because I'm too old for it, or because of social media. I hate that the tools break and the constant repeating dialogue are a huge turn-off. I just wish I knew if it was my mental health, or if New Leaf was just more enjoyable. :/

I feel like Nintendo put too much emphasis on the customizability of towns in this game... it feels severely lacking in every other way. The dialogue in this game is so repetitive that I don’t even want to talk to my villagers, for one thing.

I love that the "complain about a villager" feature is so poorly explained that people who have been playing the series for years still to this day believe it's there to harass villagers into leaving. it just resets their clothes/catchphrase to the default incase you get a villager with inappropriate stuff from another town lmao I'm pretty sure being mean to villagers doesn't make them more likely to leave anyway. same with being nice/ignoring them
