Ella had been at work when the festivities began, so she was pleasantly surprised to find Father Winter waiting with a gift for her when she got home!
...Father Winter was a cruel trickster. Since when did he give absolutely nothing?!?!?! What had Ella done to deserve this??
Ellis had been patiently waiting his turn, when seemingly out of nowhere his beloved niece hurled herself upon the physical embodiment of Winterfest Spirit!
Ellis washed shocked to see Ella put the beloved Father WInter is a serious headlock! He hadn't thought his niece was capable of such ferocity but the proof was right before his eyes!
As presents began to fly, Ellis resigned himself to the situation. He chose to believe his niece had some sort of good explanation for this. And anyway, he certainly wasn't about to step in and get himself punched.
Ellis had begun to laugh at the absurdity of the situation when Andre came in, drawn away from his erm... other activities, by the noise. And he couldn't believe what he was seeing!
Andre was certain he'd raised his daughters better than this! Had their time with Alexa changed them? He needed to have a word with her about acceptable house rules...
At this moment in the battle, the benevolent god noticed the stack of shining laundry neatly folded over the fireplace. Apparently Cinder had been too exhausted to finish the final steps. In the moment, it really added to the absurdist comedy of the situation.
Last to arrive was Ana, who wasn't a bit surprised by the turn of events. She merely calmly observed, judging his twin's technique, and occasionally locking eyes with Ella.
The distraction gave Father Winter the upper hand! With a mighty shove to the face, he finally got the furious Barrera off of him!
While Andre had a mental breakdown in the background, Ana wanted to see if any more presents would come popping out of the old man.
Alexa arrived just a moment too late, and watched on horrified as Father Winter told that whippersnapper what for!! Everyone was worried if Ella was ok, after that violent defeat. but no one moved to help.
Andre went to have the necessary conversation with Alexa, but she simply took his hands in hers and murmured soothingly. And poor hopelessly romantically pent-up Andre forgot everything, staring into his beloved's eyes. She really had him twisted around her little pinky.
Furious and now dazed from defeat, Ella followed Cinder's steps and tried the regular present pile next. She was determined to at least get SOMETHING this holiday!
...wow, ok. Ella was so shocked, she couldn't speak. What a horrible day!
She stormed off to complain to her dear Uncle Ellis, making sure the old father grump in the background could hear every nasty word. She didn't want any junk from him anyway!!
Ellis wasn't sure what to say, but Alexa came in to stand on her daughters side. Drastic measures were warranted when a sim didn't get what they were due, surely Ellis could understand. Ella for one was delighted to have her mom be on her side! Ellis continued to say nothing.
Alexa herself had just gotten a fairly basic present from Father Winter, making her the only sim in the household to actually receive a gift from him (Ana didn't count, she never got the gift meant for her).
Ana had gotten the most presents, what with poaching Cinder's and getting a very nice and expensive painting from the present pile! What a lovely day for her!
With all the Barreras having officially lost interest in the festivities and wanting nothing more to do with Father Winter, the Queens stepped in to try and keep the party spirit alive.
They finished off the pizza, relieving Luci of his duty, and had a very pleasant little dance party with Father Winter.
Recovered from the beating and having salvaged some Winterfest spirit, Father Winter whisked himself away up the chimney. Hopefully his next visit would be less... messy.
The Queens made their way home too, but before he left, Andre went to check on his son. He was shocked at the conditions Cinder was living in, and he really ought to say something to Alexa... but...
Just thinking of Alexa turned Andre's brain to mush. If she said all was right, it must be. Surely Cinder must want to live this way. Andre could just focus on planning his next visit.
