Would it be okay to request some Daddy!Aizawa headcanons? Part of me dies from thrills at the idea of him taking naps with a wee one.
It’s always okay to request parenting headcanons! They’re cute and fun to write (even if I feel repetitive with them)! I hope you enjoy and thank you so much for the request!
Aizawa will definitely take naps with his children, though it’s never intentional, really. He’s actually a bit afraid to sleep with them because he worries about rolling over onto them in his sleep. However, he’ll start taking night feedings and he’ll be rocking in the nursery room rocker with his child, feeding them until his child nods off and he’s just so lazy and tired and content with just sitting there holding them that he’ll end up falling asleep with them against his chest. Even when they reach toddler age, he’ll end up napping with them because they won’t lay down for a nap unless he lays down with them. He doesn’t plan to fall asleep but always seems to anyway.
Aizawa will be protective of his children before they even leave their mother’s womb. He’ll be after his partner to take care of their health more than normal, to make sure they get enough sleep, to eat right. He’s so worried about all the things that could happen to his child before they’re even born and he’ll be especially careful with his partner during their last couple months of pregnancy.
Going along with that, Aizawa will be a very protective father. He’ll be the one insisting on his child not doing this or not doing that while his partner will likely be the one pushing to give them a bit more independence. He’ll be a helicopter parent, worrying about his child. He’ll argue with his partner if their child wants to try something new or do something that could end up in them being injured at all, saying how he doesn’t think their child is ready for this or that quite yet. However, once Aizawa’s also fair and once he feels his child is ready to try something, he will let them. He will watch them carefully to make sure they’re not going to hurt themselves too badly, but he will let them do it.
Aizawa will be interested in his child’s Quirk, even if it’s different from his own. He’ll encourage them to learn how to master it and, though he’s not thrilled about them becoming a Hero, should they want to, he will do his best to help them become a good Hero. However, his own views would be ingrained into them and he’d pressure them to follow his path and stay out of the limelight, telling them time and time again that being a Hero isn’t something you do for the recognition or fame.
Going along with the last headcanon, Aizawa would pretty easily accept it if his child ended up having no Quirk, though he’d get a lot more protective than normal in this situation and would be very strict. His child, having no Quirk and way to defend themselves, would be at a distinct disadvantage in the world and he’d restrict them from doing a lot of things, bluntly telling them that they couldn’t because of their abilities or lack thereof. He’ll probably end up hurting his child’s feelings more than once and he’ll hate doing so, but he’d rather have his child angry at him than to see them hurt.
