💗Love Magick💗
Principles of Love Magic
Attraction Magick: drawing a loving energy toward a specific destination, be it a person, place, or object. For instance, if you wanted to attract love to your life, you could create a talisman empowered with loving energies that match the love you seek, perhaps marking it with a love symbol and anointing it with inappropriate oil.
Combining Magick: weaving or mixing together a loving energy with the energy of the person, place, or thing on which the spell is to act. For example, for a spell to cause a cold-hearted person to grow more loving, you could obtain one of the persons hairs and not this together with a pink thread empowered with a loving energy. This person’s energy is now if used to love and they will hopefully grow a little nicer.
Containing Magick: literally encasing a person, place, or thing with a container of loving energy, thereby keeping the spell’s target within a controlled only-love-may-enter environment. For example, suppose you want to send a far away depressed friend some love and protection. You can start by raising the loving energies within yourself to an intense frequency. Then visualize the target of your spell clearly as you project your loving energies directly to them, seeing in your mind’s eye the power of your magic surrounding and containing your friend in an orb protective love.
Correspondences for Love Magic
Colors: pink for soft, romantic love; red or purple for passionate love; white for pure, innocent love; blue for bright and happy true love
Symbols: hearts, interlocking circles, glyphs formed from combined initials
Herbs: rosemary, basil, cinnamon, rose, thyme, vanilla
Foods: apples, peaches, apricots, cherries
Numbers: 2 for union, 6 for perfect beauty
Stones: emerald, aquamarine
Love Magick’s One Rule
Love magick has one rule, and one rule only: Casting a spell to make a specific person fall in love with another specific person is not a viable option; it simply won’t work. To control is not the nature of love, and magick intended to force another to love you will bring about not love, but a relationship of selfish gain and confinement.
While it’s perfectly fine to magickally send your own love to a specific person of your affections, trying to coerce that person into returning the love can lead to crazy karmic consequences. But although I love spell can’t brainwash your hot crush into becoming your devoted love slave, it will still potentially entice that person or someone even more compatible into checking you out.
Love Potion
3 parts rosemary
1 part allspice
2 parts cinnamon
Use this potion to induce romantic dreams, kill early if you wish to dream of a far away love.
With intent, steep the herbs in a cup of hot water for 13 minutes. Dip a piece of your jewelry or a piece of string into the potion.
Put on the jewelry or tie the potion soaked string around your left wrist to wear while sleeping, using the principles of combining magick to fuse the dream inducing Energy’s to your body.
With a little luck, you’ll be able to hook up with your known or unknown love interest in the dream world.
Love-Bringing Charm
3 clover flowers
Small circle of white fabric
To bring romantic candidates out of the woodwork, try this bit of attraction magick.
Tie up three Clover flowers inside a small circle of white fabric. Visualize yourself surrounded by attractive suitors.
Take your feeling of irresistible charm and cast it into the flower bundle held in your left hand.
Do a sweeping motion in the air with your wand or hand, as if fathering new friends toward you.
Tap the bundle with your wand or fingertips and send a jet of blue or pink light Intuit as you say “Trust” and emit a common energy.
Carry the bundle with you for up to three moon cycles. If there is someone you already know who is your perfect match, the charm will work in very mysterious ways.
Lover’s Toast
2 parts rosemary
1 part basil
Blend ingredients into ¼ cup of butter over low heat.
Stir seven times clockwise, three stirs counterclockwise, then seven stirs clockwise, and so forth, until the mixture is melted and becoming fragrant.
Inhale the aroma and conjure a feeling of light-hearted joy. Release this energy as a lavender light flowing into the blend.
Pour over two slices of toast and share with a loved one to promote love and happiness.

Witchy Items for Your Altar
I share a very small room with my sister, and obviously don’t have much room for an altar. I use most of my space for my Hellenic shrines and altar. I keep my witchy stuff on my shared bedside table. Here is what I use, and how I store/display it. This is element based, but you can use it however you like.
North (Earth)
Small Himalayan Rock Salt Lamp - This is a tool I use all the time. It detoxifies my room, and cleanses the space. I feel so much more at ease with it on, like it’s washing everything away!
Crystals - You might want to move these or switch them out depending on what spell you’re doing, as all energy contributes to the working, but while you’re in your room, or even while you’re away, you can leave these here to represent Earth.
Salt - Little packets of salt work, or you can place a bowl with some salt in it on your altar. I use my rock salt lamp.
Dirt - A literal baby jar of dirt works, or you can put a plant on your altar if it’s by a window. I have a succulent!
Earth Imagery - A mini globe would be pretty cool! Or even a little eraser or what not. Having an actual picture of the Earth would be amazing, especially if the clouds were visible, and maybe if it had the sun in the background. Then it could be all encompassing of the elements.
Herbs, Flowers, Plants, etc - As with the crystals, you may want to change these out or put them away during spells, or switch them out. However, they would look really cool as you went with the seasons!
Fossils - I think fossils are awesome Earth representations. They have been in the ground for a very long time! I used to have some really cool fossils I used to represent Earth on my altar.
Tree Slice - Have you ever seen those little wooden slices that come from a tree stump? The ones that definitely had huge roots? Those would be perfect to represent Earth!
South (Fire)
Birthday Candles/Tea Lights - You can colour code! These are great for short workings, or even to call the elements. To make these stand up, place them in a bit of clay and let it harden.
Matches - Double whammy here- light your candles and have a representation!
Ash - I used to have volcanic ash, which was perfect. It got spilled, but for the while that I had it, it was awesome. Collect ash from incense, a fire, etc, and use it (just wait for it to cool!!!)
Charcoal - I always thought charcoal looked kinda witchy. I think a dish of it would make a good rep.
Charred Wood - If you have a bonfire, or just so happen to light a piece of wood on fire, you could let it cool and use it for your altar.
Lamp - If you have a secret altar, a little lamp could be an inconspicuous representation for fire, as it does produce light and heat.
Lantern - You can buy super cute mini lanterns at the Dollar Store. I love them, but haven’t gotten one yet. I think they would be fun to use for Fire.
West (Water)
Glass of Water - You can use whatever type of water you’d like; moon water, rose water, purified water, gem elixir; take your pick! Just make sure it doesn’t get moldy and stay moldy. Change it out each day/week.
Sea Shells - You can get these in super small sizes! Or, you can get them big and bulky.
Sea Glass - These little stone-like fragments are so pretty! They look just like crystals, and can be found on the beach or in the store!
Sea Salt - Sea Salt could work to represent Water, especially if you pour it into a seashell or add in sea glass to it. It could be like a little potpourri of water related objects!
Rain Cloud - You can create clouds out of things like stuffing for toys, cotton balls, and sometimes led lights. It could be a fun project, or you can buy one of them off of etsy.
Mermaid Image - I have a mermaid book mark made of metal, and it sits with my other water-related objects. I feel like it adds that feel of majesty to my water representation.
Drift Wood - This is so pretty! The pieces are smooth, have a fun shape, and definitely capture the essence of water!
Sand - If you go to a beach, collect some sand, and place it somewhere on your altar! Be sure to put it in a bowl, though, because it is hard to clean up.
Sea Weed - You can hang this somewhere, or put it directly on your altar. Either way, it looks great.
Coral - If you find some coral, you can place it on your altar. It looks so neat!
Starfishes/Sand Dollars/etc. - These are a little harder to find on the beach, but if you do, place them on your altar.
East (Air)
Wind Chimes - These add a little decoration to your altar, as well as give you an air representaiton. You can even listen for the tinkling of bells to see if any fae are around!
Bells - If you ring a bell, it disperses stagnant energy, and helps to cleanse a space. Having one on your altar is a great way to keep it fresh!
Feathers - This is a pretty obvious one, an oldie but a goodie. If you have some feathers, you can use them, but make sure there are no laws against collecting them in your area. Alternatively, you can use fake ones from a craft store.
Empty Glass or Bottle - Air is all around us. Use that to your advantage!
Dandelion Puff - This is what I immediately think of when I picture the wind. You can collect some puffs and put them in a glass.
Bird’s Nest (fake) - You can buy or make a fake bird’s nest. They look pretty real, and have this awesome rustic naturey vibe to them!
Leaves - They were once high in the sky! Collect them during the fal season or after a storm.
Incense - Another well-known one. You can burn this and use the smoke.
Tornado Making Jar - You know those little jars that you can shake up, and they make a tornado? Those would be a fun water-air duo!
Other:
Small Jewelry Box - This can store crystals, herbs, essential oils, etc. I use to use mine to cleanse my crystals becuase it played music!
Multi Colour Light-Up Candle - I found mine at Five Below! It lights up in tons of different colours, but is pretty large. However, it takes up a lot less room than a bunch of different coloured candles.
Your Wand - Having your wand on your altar makes it a sacred, special tool. It will be charged by the witchy items you have there, and will feel natural inn the environment.
A Mini Besom or Real Besom (Broom) - I use a paintbrush as a mini besom, as I can’t have real one. However, it would be nice if I did, and I’d keep it near my altar!
Your Grimoire/Spellbook/BOS/etc - If you aren’t hiding it, you could keep it on your altar!
A Fire-Safe Dish or Cauldron - If you water scry, burn things, or just like to include your cauldron in your spells, you can keep it on your altar.
Incense Tray - Incense can’t be burned without somewhere to place it. Keep your incense holder handy!
Altar Cloth - This ties everything together! It can be switched out for sabbats/festivals/seasons/spells.
Chalice - I’m not Wiccan, but I use the chalice in my workings every once in a while, usually for water-related magic. You can get these beautiful metal ones at antique stores, or regular old wine glasses at the dollar store!
Mortar and Pestle - For practical use and an awesome vibe! You can keep this near your herbs.
Coloured/Enchanted Salts - They display beautifully, and are really good to have on hand.
Spirit Vessels - These can go in their own little corner if you like. They could also be the center of your altar, especially if you work mainly with spirits.
Tarot/Other Cartomancy Cards - Find a nook for your cards to be kept safe and clean. They will be charged by the other objects all around it, which makes it an awesome idea to have on your altar.
Scrying Mirror - Make this the main attraction, or perhaps just a piece of the puzzle. If you have an ornate mirror, it could be a very drawing part of your altar!
Crystal Ball - Like the scrying mirror, it could be a background piece or the focal point.
Runes - If you cast runes, you can keep your bag or box of them on or near your altar.
Other Divination Tools - You cans store these, or just la them throughout your altar. Whatever you choose, having your tools close by will be awesome!
Twig Shapes - You can make sigils out of twigs and hot glue! Add a ribbon or piece of twin in the shape of a loop, and you can hang them above your altar as decoration and as a little energy booster!
Circle (Embroidery Hoop) - I know most people use salt to cast circles, but I actually use an embroidery hoop. I cast one around myself, and one around the items I am working with (ex: what’s in the hoop).
Knife - If you use a ritual or practical knife in your workings, it’s good to have on hand. I can’t have one, but I like my wand better anyway, personally.
Fae Garden - You’ll have to have plenty of sunlight near your altar for this one, but it will definitely be fun to have some Fae living on your altar!
Spell Supplies - Random bits and bobs, like egshells and ribbons, can be kept on your altar as well.
So I made this floating pentacle.
I used already fallen branches that I tied together with twine. Then I hung off charms.
Super easy to make. ☺ I hung mine over my altar.
Wax Seal Charms
From simple love spells to glamours and hexes, wax seal charms are a powerful and versatile tool for any witch’s arsenal. Small, completely customizable, inconspicuous, and easy to hide, these simple charms are useful for nearly any type of magick.
First, you will need a smooth, relatively flat work surface that can withstand heat (I used the bottom of a ceramic bowl). Fold a small envelope from a square of paper. You want the envelope to be the same size as or smaller than the wax seal to ensure complete wax coverage.
Next, write your intent (or draw a sigil) on the inside of the envelope. Keep it simple or write very small.
You can add a small pinch of herbs (or a taglock) if you like, but try not to use too much or the charm won’t flatten and may not seal correctly.
Once you’ve added your herbs, fold the envelope shut. You may need to squish it a little to keep it closed.
Pour your wax over the envelope, making sure to cover any open edges, and place your stamp in the molten wax. Apply light pressure for a few moments and then allow to cool.
Once completely cool, remove your stamp and peel the charm off your work surface.
And voila! A small, portable charm that can easily be slipped into a purse or wallet unnoticed.
Different shapes of gemstones and their meanings.
Each crystal or gemstone can be found in many different shapes, but actually each one has specific properties. Here are some of them:
Tumbled Stones
This stones are the ones whose shape has been smoothed or polished from their raw form. Ideal for meditation, affirmations and altar work. This shape evens and gentle energy.
Abundance stones
This is basically an elongated crystal with clustered, smaller crystals around it. This is perfect for wealth and abundance, hence it’s name. Useful, for example, to use in business.
Natural point stones
Not necessary a wand-like crystal, they’re any part of a faceted crystal with a point that has formed naturally and not precisely perfected. This are useful to draw energy from a body or to the body. Perfect for cleansing and healing.
Generator stones
A Generator will have six facets (of equal or unequal proportions) that meet into one point. It gets its name for its ability to generate amplified energy, boosting the power of other stones, or the stone it is made of. This type of formation is also very powerful for charging other stones.
Geode
Geodes have the ability to hold energy within and soften it, allowing it to naturally flow out and disperse evenly. These formations are great for protection or for assisting with healing abusive habits such as alcoholism and abusive internal monologues.
Raw stones
Raw stones are in their natural form and have not been smoothed, polished or altered. Also they’re often considered as more fragile than it’s relatives. They are great for all spiritual work.
Pyramid stones
This refers to four equal triangle faces and a square base. This is pretty often used in healing, it’s useful for warding off negative energy and also removing blocks from the chakra system. Also good for affirmations and manifestation work.
Spheres
These powerful formations are great for scrying. As it’s form is smooth from every possible angle, is believed that light, energy and time pass through it with no rules or hindrances, hence their scrying abilities.
Cubes
Perfect for grounding energies and intentions, believed that energy is contained and enhanced in this stone shape. Transmutes negative to positive energy, perfect for mindfulness and concentration.

A fun way to learn about crystals as a beginner!
I’m still very much a beginner, but my favorite way to learn about crystals is going to my local witchy shop and grabbing a crystal that really speaks to me (I usually pick one I’m not familiar with yet) and I take it home to do research! It’s really fun to read up on the crystals and think about what drew me to them :)
Gemstones & their meanings: 40 stones for magick and meditation
Looking for stones for your magickal toolkit? Here’s a crash course in 40 of the most commonly available crystals and gemstones. Working with crystals can improve your personal energy, amp up your spellwork, and help you create the life you desire. This handy guide will help choose the right crystals for you, whatever your goals might be.
After you’ve read these crystal meanings, I encourage you to spend some time gazing at and handling your crystals. Crystals are a hands-on, eyes-on, heart-on hobby. One of the best ways to study them is to visit with them. It sounds kooky, I know—but many stones will tell you all about themselves if you take the time to listen.
Collecting crystals is a blissful and transformative experience. Here at Grove and Grotto, our own crystal work has undeniably changed our lives for the better. But I never recommend crystal magick as a substitute for medical care. If you’re seriously ill or distressed, get qualified help before rock shopping, mmmmkay?
Here they are, in alphabetical order, 40 magickal stones and their metaphysical uses:
Amazonite
Sea-green Amazonite carries all sorts of positive meanings: Serenity, creativity, and brave self-expression. It is one of the best talismans for artists and performers. It clears self-doubt and inspires love of beauty. Amazonite is found in a pale celadon hue (see picture) in Brazil, China, and Africa. The bright turquoise variety is a new discovery and comes from Madagascar.
Amethyst
One of the most magickal stones on Earth, Amethyst is a favorite of witches, healers, shamans and seers. Purple is a color that is seldom found in nature, and Amethyst has an exquisite vibration to match its rare hue. Amethyst is great for meditation and for managing the emotions. It calms anxiety and balances fear and excess. Amethyst gently stimulates dreams and visions, inspiring you to become your highest self. There are countless colors and shapes of Amethyst, each with slightly different properties.
Angelite
A lovely stone with a lovely name, Angelite is formed by the compression of Celestite over millions of years. (Yes, it is actually condensed heaven!) Angelite is soothing and uplifting. It is a popular choice among Angelic healers, channelers, and lightworkers. Angelite can assist in making contact with ancient guides and smoothing the way toward higher states of awareness. Don’t get Angelite wet—it didn’t wait all these millennia just to turn into calcite in your jacuzzi, thanks.

ALTAR 101 🔮✨
•••☽◯☾•••
Here is a guide to setting up your altar based on common traditions for those new to Wicca or interested in beginning or even those practicing wiccans just looking to shake up your current set up!
•••☽◯☾•••
The most important step in setting up your altar is choosing its location; finding a spot where you are comfortable and feel positive energy is SO important! Even small things such as choosing directionality of your altar is important - if you will be using a round table/stand, directionality may not be as important, but if you are using a square set up or intend to always face the same direction when using your altar, choose the directionality which you feel closest to (you can also change directionality with certain spells if you like):
• North: Earth 🌏
• South: Fire🔥
• East: Air 💨
• West: Water💧
It is optimal to purify and cleanse the area you intend to use for your altar as well as the table/stand you choose to use.
•••☽◯☾•••
What you choose to set up your altar on is 110% a personal choice. If you don’t want to spend money looking for a specific altar table or building something special to use, simply using something you have laying around already is absolutely fine! For instance, I used an old coffee table that I had laying around not in use. As long as you purify the item with your intent, it can be anything you need. Another consideration is storage - some altars I’ve seen online have drawers and storage beneath which is a great option if space is limited! You will need someplace to store candles, herbs, stones, etc. Also important is deciding how mobile you need your altar to be - if you are a closet witch, mobility is important and a formal set up may not be plausible. Here are some beautiful altar table examples:
•••☽◯☾•••
Items of the Altar Include;
⭐️ Athame: A ceremonial blade; primarily this is used as a tool to channel energy through - this is not traditionally used as a cutting tool. Can be used to cast your circle as well as to invoke the elements of the four directions.
⭐️ Bell: Used to open and close rituals - typically associated with banishing of negative influences and energies.
⭐️ Boline: Traditionally used as a cutting tool for herbs, ribbon, flowers, etc.
⭐️ Cauldron: Used for burning of herbs, mixing of herbs, burning of symbols / paper. This should typically be cast iron since it will contain fire often times.
⭐️ Chalice: Used to hold blessed wine or water during rituals or spells.
⭐️ God Candle: Can be yellow or gold in coloration; Used to invoke masculine energies
⭐️ Goddess Candle: Can be white or silver in coloration; Used to invoke feminine energies
⭐️ Pentacle: Used to invoke positive energies into a circle; often times items can be “charged” upon a pentacle
⭐️ Wand: Another tool of invokation used to invoke the gods and sacred energies. Like the athame, this too can be used to cast a circle.
•••☽◯☾•••
One option for setting up the altar is a more “traditional” set up dividing the table into feminine and masculine energies. The left side is traditionally meant for femininity with items such as your goddess statue, goddess candle, chalice, bowl of water, cauldron, pentacle, crystals, and bell. The masculine right side includes your god statue, god candle, incense, wand, salt, athame, boline, and matches. The center of the altar is dedicated to ritual and magic set up.
•••☽◯☾•••
Another common style is an elemental set up with items representative of water (chalice, bowl of water, cauldron) being set to the west, air (bell, wand, incense) to the east, earth (pentacle, salt, stones) to north, and fire (athame, boline, matches / oils) to the south.
•••☽◯☾•••
Other items you could consider adding to your altar representative of each element:
💧 Water: Seashells, Ace of Cups (Tarot), Rainwater, Mirrors, Driftwood, Seaweed, Crystal Ball, Goblet
🔥 Fire: Cactus, Volcanic Stone, Ash, Ace of Wands (Tarot), Lantern, Dragon Statue, Cinnamon Sticks, Incense
🍃 Earth: Ceramics, Coin, Stones, Soil, Salt, Ace of Pentacles, Seeds, Herbs, Flowers, Bone
💨 Air: Diffuser, Ribbons, Wind Instruments, Fans, Butterfly Imagry, Feathers, Ace of Swords (Tarot)
•••☽◯☾•••
I hope this was helpful as a basic guide! As always I encourage everyone to do things along their own personal style and employ things meaningful to you. ♥️
Okay so dyed hair is cool already but let’s consider witches using their own homemade, charmed, protection spelled, hair dye to stop people from being able to use their hair to curse them ? ??
Like, innovative and cool ? Colorful witchy dyed hair plus protection??? Great idea.

Crystals 101 🔮✨
Crystals 101: Now presenting my compilation of crystal names, images, and basic meanings. This should be used as a basic guide for crystal magicks; symbolism used is very rudimentary and basic and I would recommend delving deeper to learn more about crystals before deciding to use them in your spells! This guide is nearly all encompassing and includes 180 stones in alphabetic order!
✨☽◯☾✨
✨☽◯☾✨
Something important to keep in mind is how imperative it is to find that energy connection with your crystals - some strategies include holding stones in your hand until you feel that vibrational energy, laying stones out and visualizing their auras, or collecting them in a dish and picking out the one that “feels” right.
✨☽◯☾✨
What stones do you specifically seek for your altar?
