I have had some thoughts actually and I will expand on this mayhaps later! For now, Zoroark Submas because I think the brothers being foxes are funny (and angsty) <3
heres some thoughts on this new au I'll be calling "Friendly faces":
Ingo and Emmet were found by Drayden as newborn kits (Mama Zoroark was probably hunted)
Albinism in pokemon is probably rarer than the shiny phenomena
When Ingo and Emmet start learning how to illusion, they used Drayden as a base.
Growing up, they may or may not have gotten enthralled by the way Drayden battles at the Gym
at first, they were just normal zorua but then they start developing stronger illusions and learning advanced telepathy and Drayden realised that they were going to need more enrichment than normal Zorua care package
drayden may or may not have pulled a few strings to let the twins become trainers, people of authority (police and government) and the league circuit are privy to the fact that they are in fact zorua/zoroark.
elesa found out because they were neighbours as kids and she would hear the shiny jingle, one day she just looked and saw the twins practicing illusions lol (she decided they were her weird pretty foxes)
Their pokeballs are registered first to Drayden but when they grow up they're transfered to Elesa when they go on the journey/move to nimbasa (they actually live with elesa because it is easier)
yes, they can speak with pokemon and their pokemon do know.
the fact that the subway bosses are zoroark is in fact nimbasa's best kept secret (they like to entertain the kids)
ingo is half hisuian by the time they are adults because of chandelure eating bits of his soul lmao
sometimes you will hear emmet make non human noises in human guise. this is normal.
ingo gets zoomies if hes too excited
ingo's haxorus' earthquake does in fact hit emmet on purpose
some of emmet's joltiks are not joltiks. that joltik yipped? yeah dont worry about it, its Kalosian.
once every few weeks, they go hunting (gotta get enrichment somehow and keep those skills sharp)
Emmet has beef with the local flock of ducklett, this is normal.
ingo has beef with a local cinccino, this is also normal.
ingo and emmet have singlehandedly turned around the negative stigma around zorua and zoroarks and other misunderstood pokemon
dont even get me started on the hisui stuff (or do, i also have thoughts)
there's something kinda weird about the waitress at that little café in the plaza. can't quite put my finger on it but i'm sure it'll come to me eventually
