“I do not want to see what is shown, I want to see what is secret. What is hidden amongst the visible. I want to see the skin of light.”

why do we often say dramatic shit like “find what you love and let it destroy you” or ”if you love something, you have to let it go”? i mean, why should we do that? it may sound deep and intense, but when you come to think of it, isn’t the best course of action to just hang out around what you love as long as you can and then part ways on good terms or something? i don’t want to let go of what i want cuz it feels good to be around. and also i don’t want to be destroyed by what i love cuz that’s just lame and life is not a fan fiction or a bukowski novel.
just…find what you love and hang on as long as it’s real. it may not sound so final, but it’s kind of wise actually.
