Can’t bitch about this on twitter cuz too many people are on there, but I just think it’s absolutely hilarious how fake people really are. Earlier this year I started working at an apartment complex that houses a lot of my fraternity brothers. Before I continue, I want to say that I love some of my fraternity brothers, but I felt like some of them never gave a single fuck about me. I joined my fraternity to make LIFE LONG friends who shared the same values as myself. I wanted to meet new people and have a whole network of close friends to hang out with, like previous positions I had at the college had provided me with. Since I graduated last year, I’ve only heard from the brothers that I kept up with when I was an active member. I started working at the apartment complex and all of a sudden I have brothers that I never heard from texting me, chatting with me and I was generally feeling pretty great about it. I couldn’t believe after all the time I was actually hanging out with my brothers. Well, long story short a few weeks later the complex got bought out and I got laid off. One of my brothers reaches out to me in the days after, obviously asking for a favor. I let him know that I’m no longer with the company, and guess what, I got NOTHING in response. Haven’t heard from a single one of them since I left almost 4 months ago. It’s nothing I didn’t expect, I just thought I had joined a group of gentlemen. It really makes me look at my flag and wonder if my chapter wasn’t the one for me, where are the brothers who will actually act like brothers, like we didn’t say the same oath and participate in the same initiation... like we didn’t all work to make the colony a chapter.... like my dime wasn’t just as important to founding as theirs... it just amazes me. Been wanting to get this off my chest for a while now. If you read this far, thank you.
