I recently had the opportunity to travel to Alice Springs as part of a work trip. I had never been before. It is simultaneously one of the most beautiful and depressing places I’ve been to. The land is captivating each way you look, a dry sea of red dust, but then it’s tarnished by the sheer amount of poverty in the region. How people in power over time have allowed this, and made this, happen to their fellow humans is beyond me. They deserve so much better.
