Yaku was heading down to the cafeteria to have a little snack. He fell in line, soon buying a bad of chips and a drink. He took a seat at one of the empty tables, pulling out his books and started working on his assignment as he snacked on his chips.
Minutes later after being indulged in his work, he closed his book, managing to finish it and goes back to eating. Even if he did get his assignment just today, he rather get it out of the way.
He was looking around, as if he was trying to set his eyes on something to keep him busy when he saw a familiar hair colour. ❝KENMA!❞ He shouted, standing from his seat and waving his arm to get the other’s attention.
Well can’t blame him for being happy to see him.
He had been initially quite shocked when his name was called out. It wasn’t exactly uncommon for Kenma to run into people he knew at the school’s cafeteria─ ESPECIALLY given how many familiar faces appeared at the volleyball club (though, given that it was still early on in the year, Kenma hadn’t gotten the change to speak to anyone).
And yet, when he was called out to in the cafeteria, the setter was momentarily startled. He turned, cautiously peering over his shoulder and out from under his bangs. His brief moment of anxiety was washed away when Yaku came forward; his shoulders relaxed, and he even managed a small nod in greeting.
“Hello, Yaku.” Kenma returned the greeting, “It’s nice to see you.” he added in, taking a moment before he did so. And it was true: Kenma was happy to see Yaku, especially after going so long without seeing him. He even smiled─ a light one, but a smile nonetheless.
