Presentation Prompt
Based our conversation in class (11.21), here are the elements I am looking for in the Presentations, which should be around ten minutes:
Sample(s) from your podcast series. You can play one episode or a selection of samples from several episodes. You can play the whole thing through and talk before and/or after it. You can, alternately, play samples, talk, play samples, talk. Be sure to balance your presentation between samples and discussion of those samples.
Discuss your podcast series in terms of sound studies. Use aspects from the course (e.g., readings, discussions, other projects or assignments) to frame, assess, or otherwise discuss your work on the podcast series.
Discuss your podcast series through your distribution plan. As you introduce and walk us through your podcast series, use your distribution plan to discuss the series’s audience, your techniques in recording, scripting and editing, and how it might evolve in the future.
Distribution Plan Prompt
Based our conversation in class (11.21), here are the elements I am looking for in the Distribution Plan, which should be one, single-spaced page:
Who is the audience?
How will you reach them?
What other channels might you pursue?
What other media might you incorporate in and around the podcast?
Where and how else might you host the podcast?
Ethos: voice and sound of the show
Technique: tools and practices (interviewing, recording, editing, etc.)
Content: What other subject matter might you cover or addressing using your podcast series?
Feel free to format your distribution in whatever suits the direction you take in answering the above questions.
