✘ Manju Cookie rp blog ✘ private . selective . low activity ✘ regaled by era ✘ 30+ she/her
@slybutterfox
Manju appears to be appraising her fan. There's a hum before he chokes trying to lift it and it falls to the ground. Oops. ... "Do you ever dance with this fan?"
Jagae was watching carefully as Manju was checking over her giant fan, her expression narrow slightly, when the other dropped it before rolling her eyes and picked up the fan with ease. Then she blinked and tilt her head to slightly.
"Well, yeah... I mean it's not often I do however I can dance with it."
His ears perked up at such auspicious news. If there was one thing he was a fan of from back home, it was the talent other cookies put on display for others. And he was an incredibly indulgent fox when it came to the arts.
Happily, he grabbed the nearest chair and sat himself down for the show to begin.
Tail swished behind him like the excited fox he was. "Go on, Jagae dear."
@cookieofearthbread sorry Jagae
Smoke filled the nighttime marina air as the jam-covered fox leaned against the dock pier. Business was business in their world where things could easily be a gamble of loss and profit. His dear rabbit suffered such loss with a few sponsors, some of which didn't take kindly to the refusal of some desired merchandise. Endeavors he didn't care for until one branch decided to retaliate against her upstanding morals behind the captain's back. Even for his lack of them, such betrayal didn't sit too well~
There were reasons information was a valuable commodity regardless of what it was or how it was gained. For with his intel rewarded his devoted guardianship.
He looked down to the crumbled thing with that pitiful attempt to sneak aboard and harm his Jagae, Manju nudged the cookie off the dock and into the water where the offender would drift off never to be seen nor heard of again. And ahh~ He felt much better knowing his Captain was safe.
Now for a long soak for his poor fur so he could properly greet her first thing in the morning and regal her of her own strength again.
Although along the way towards his own docked ship on the far side of the harbor, yet his ears twitched to the sound of someone a little too curious. How unfortunate... Stopping in place, he took one last drag of his pipe before turning his attention towards the deck of his beloved rival's ship.
Manju smiled.
I can't believe I'll be making an evil verse for this fox... Yes I can. I know how I am.
@slybutterfox
Jagae, help. He is poor, cold, lonely fox begging for food, warmth, and someone strong to carry him. Even his fur has started changing colors, this really is unfortunate...
Jagae could only let out a grumble, rolling her eyes, as she couldn't believe she was stuck with the other and how much he was whining however the guildmaster picked up the other, carrying him in a bride style, before entering a inn where she would know would be warm and one she had connection with meaning she could take care of the Manju guildmaster without worry.
His poor ears likely look so out of place. He would need to stay in a warmly locations for at least two weeks or better to get out this gray. Thank heavens Jagae was here. His arms never released their grip, and why should he when this was the best seat in this fine establishment. So when she did carry him inside, he only followed her gaze and looked at the cookie behind the counter.
"A room for two?" he suggested. Tail began to swish and sway happily.
Manju has something of a seasonal shift with his hair. Like with some variations of real foxes, his beautiful brown and tan fur will transition to something more black and white come the colder months. He will typically avoid these cold months by staying indoors as much as possible or staying closer to the warmer lands until cold spells crack. This is not to say he will avoid venturing to places where coin is always the greatest motivation, but he preferably takes precautions to traverse the chill swiftly and as needed to avoid the looming grey hairs if he should linger.
Witches forbid others see anything other than his tail being the most lovely shade you've ever seen. Or bushy.
He is but a cold, helpless fox. Jagae help.
the rivals
@slybutterfox
Ohmy~ THE Jagae thinks I'm husband material~
"NO I don't! I sign you up so you will be busy wit this whilst I'm making business and setting up trade routes."
"You do realize if I should win, this will also be great publicity! I shall have you to thank."
anon kisses Jagae:
There's something in the shadow however before Manju could see the cookie, the stranger pressed a kiss on the fox's cheek, before vanishing as quickly as they appeared... The only thing that was noted was how the smell of sea salt lingered on the cookie and the brief moment of black hair being seen.
Not often one can sneak their way in to be so close and the swift-footed fox be unaware of such individuals. With a kiss on the cheek even! Even as his nose caught the very familiar scent of the sea, and the shimmer of that black pearl-glinted hair within the corner of his eye, Manju's ears were at full attention and tail in slow thought.
"That's twice now. If the sea bunny keeps this up, cookies will begin to talk~"
A Command must be obey - Accepting
@slybutterfox
► "Oh ho ho ho~ What's this~" A very cheshire grin graced the fox's features. "My... crossing upon an item of unique properties~ Shall we test it?" Manju leaned a vulpine ear close to sweet Jagae Cookie, all the while sweetly posing his order: "Admit that I'm the best guildmaster."
Jagae had been sorting some of her wares when she came across a bracelet with strange writing on it and a gem which she carefully picked up and looked over. She didn’t recognize the bracelet which was rather unusual as the merchant knew nearly all the wares that she and her guild members had.
However when she held it near her wrist, the bracelet suddenly opened up, and snapped on which caused the guildmaster to panic as she tried to remove it however no matter how much she tugged and pulled at it; the bracelet refused to budge in the slightest.
She grumbled and cursed to herself, staring at the bracelet, noting that the gem on the bracelet had changed color, although before she stared at it any longer; a certain fox had to make his ‘grand’ appearance and notice her predicament with the bracelet.
Making him question her which she answered without missing a beat which caused the guildmaster to widen her eyes as she didn’t plan to tell him what had just happened.
Which of course gave an idea to Manju… And Jagae could tell with the comment and the Cheshire grin that formed on his face.
Her face burned up when he executed the order, forcing her to say that he was the best guildmaster.
“....You…..A-are…. The best guildmaster.” Jagae gritted her teeth, glaring at the butter fox, as if she was trying to burn him on the spot at that exact moment.
“...I will get you back for this.”
That smile of his was utterly delightful as her gritted response was a melodic chime in his ears. So much so in fact that the fox couldn't help but chuckle cheerfully. "Oh you flatter me. It will get you everywhere, dear Jagae."
Except his coin purse, of course~
Tilting his head, he weighed the retaliation of those words, that sly gleam in his eye where Manju was fully intent on showcasing how wonderful a silver tongue could be- especially his under correct circumstances. This being one which could not be passed up.
"Hmm.... are you certain?" he teased.
While the number of how many orders the user was forced to execute, there was a reminding tap against that bracelet of hers and he gave another command to save his tail from whatever she could plan. "I dare say you won't get me back for this."
As much as the bunny may wish to escape her snare, the best way may be exhausting the enchantment. And how fortunate someone like him was around to assist. Would be dangerous in the wrong hands, certainly. Therefore she should be grateful they were alone at the very least.
Manju at least offered a hand out that he may truly inspect the bracelet- of her own free will this time.
"May I?"
You know what, fuck you ***turns your Manju cookie into a fox plus Jagae cookie into a rabbit***
The first 5 Asks to send 💋 get a kiss 💋- Jagae - Manju (@cookieofearthbread)
Oh, another chance meeting. The buttershell fox still hadn't forgotten the last stunt she pulled when he was in the middle of explaining something of importance- not that he could even remember after that moment. But... an eye for an eye as they say.
"Oh, my delightfully busy sea bunny~" Manju tilted his his ever so slightly with a toothy smirk waiting for that turn to curse him. And no sooner had she, the fox placed a kiss upon Jagae Cookie's cheek. Leaving one pleased fox that the tables have rightfully been turned.
It should have been an easy task…. One where nothing should have gone wrong however some witch must have cursed her and her crew’s mate as they ran into trouble in the open sea as they were forced to fight against some no good pirates that wanted to rob them.
They should have been easy to take care of. After all, she faced tougher challenges than them, however one of them was able to get a lucky shot on her… Or rather… They would have shot one of her crew members dead had she not stepped in and took the blow for them.
After that; everything became a huge blur for the guildmaster as the last thing she could remember was grabbing the cookie’s arm and hearing a loud snapping sound before reality started to slip through her hand with the shouting surrounding her; blended together.
Then she woke up in her room with one of her guild member standing above her as they told her what happened before she passed out; they were able to drive away the pirates that attack the ship with her being the only one with serious injuries, relief passing her for a moment, before frowning when she was told she had to rest for some time.
Their guild was going to be affected… The business… Slow down because they were forced to wait for her to recover. That had put the merchant in a sour mood and that sour mood was driven further when some time had passed and a certain fox burst into her room.
She was going about to get up from her bed, reaching for her fan, when she was pushed back down by the other which only earned him some yelling and cursing from her.
However, before she could throw another set of insults towards him; she paused when she saw that brief moment of expression which got replaced and the tone of voice he was using.
A click of tongue could be heard.
“Some pirates.” She answered slowly and carefully as the answer weighed heavily on her.“...They were pointing a gun at one of my own and I couldn’t let them take one of us… Regardless of the consequences… I took the bullet and from what I have been told afterwards despite not remembering it is that I broke the guy’s arm as payment.”
He listened. Those erect ears faced Jagae whilst the tilt of his smiling face made sure he was still pleasantly giving his full attention. That it had been pirates... Oh ho ho... He wasn't without his own crossing of their paths- sometimes even they wished to do business with the right persuasion. Only Manju half wondered just which band of unfortunate misfits happened upon his now injured sea bunny.
Knowing she got an arm break in... The mental image actually lifted his spirits with a flash of genuine amusement tugging at his painted mask of delight. That tidbit of information would make it far easier for his guild when keeping a lookout. There were a few words he'd like to have with them.
Manju's free arm reached over, carefully- quickly inspecting the bandaged wound with the most feather-like touch as to not to disturb it or the cookie's surefire temper from yet another audacious move. A little assessment as he retracted back, holding his pipe up to his mouth for exceedingly another long drag to quell the rather unfortunate stirring of his jam. He needed upkeep the calm and composed self.
Another ear flick. This time twitch of his bushy tail.
She could use some fresh air from this stuffy old cabin, and taking the effort to open the nearest porthole, a familiar sight caught his eye and the fox paused momentarily. A katana tied in his iconic red rope he'd previously sent as a gift he'd fully expected her to stow away in some trunk or sold immediately for some hefty coin- or overboard. But there it was upon a stand, and... Manju cleared his throat as if his own smoking was the problem.
Business. This was business.
After blowing the delightful red bean scented smoke back out into her cabin, the buttershell fox's demeanor finally shifted back into something more familiar. "Well. That's quite the story. And here I thought that strength was all for show. At least now I know which pirates to do some business with~ The ruthless ones do typically bolster a lot of gold within their coffers. Really, it may have worked better for you if you if you tried a little haggling with our fellow seafarers."
"Yeah, whatever... This whole Miss Earthbread thing was a waste of time anyway... Don't even know why my guild members thought it be funny to sign me up for it."
"Hmm~ Likely because I showed them the flyer. Who wouldn't want to nominate their beloved guildmaster for such an esteemed title?"
"If it's any consolation, dear Jagae Cookie, I voted for you~"
@cookieofearthbread indulging me with Jagae Cookie
There ships in passing, he'd expected the other merchant to fully greet him on deck, perhaps even throw her next letter at him with the fully volley of her throw. Witch the tilt of his head at the watchful murmurs of the Jagae guild merchants, something told him a happy reunion was not in their immediate future. It was enough of a confirmation as those upon the Iridescent Wave went about their business sailing the ship.
Well that wouldn't do.
Hopping up on the railing, Manju Cookie leapt the great distance between their ships- much to everyone's surprise.
"Now then, where is our hot headed sea bunny?" he pleasantly inquired.
The three deckhands look amongst themselves, deciding if they should say anything at all. And who could blame them? The best rivaling merchant upon the waters with a penchant for stealing all the best customers. Regardless, Manju waited while they deliberated. His ear may have flicked.
"The Guildmaster isn't seeing anyone at this time."
"Oh?" That was unheard of. The fox pitched concern in place for curiosity. "Is everything quite alright? It's unheard of for any merchant worth their salt to turn away those with coin."
Luckily that little addition seemed to shake their mercantile hearts. How auspicious~
Another member spoke up, much to the others displeasure. "Jagae Cookie was badly injured in battle. It'll take her some time to recover, but- H-HEY!"
Manju was making quick efforts locating her quarters, speedily avoiding those wishing to stop him. Be it either flash step or illusions, those upon the ship were incapable of catching any form of a swift-footed fox. Somehow, even the footsteps had gone silent. Even if this was some sort of mini declaration of war invading rival territory, something begged him to know Jagae was well.
Barging into the other's cabin, Manju froze. Without her shine shell coat, he could see the bandages wrapped about her.
And jam.
She had enough spirit to still bark some offense, her face heating up at the audacity of his intrusion and the reach for her fan. But in the hair splitting second, he was suddenly by her side, blocking the efforts she raised to stand. Everything hurled at him fell on flattened ears and ignored without smile nor frown. He studied. And when he did speak, the smile resurfaced, though there was an unspoken emotion in his voice.
"Who hurt you?"
The buttershell fox is happily sipping his tea as the sailing vessel passes through friendly waters. Even upon deck, with the wind gently tussling the fluffy hair, the ever alert ears listened for all signs of talk about him. Where his crew readied bringing the ship into the docks of their new trading grounds, Manju turned a curiously pleasant smile down towards a seemingly waiting face.
