hallowed-lightning replied to your post:god hates all mutants, not just the brotherhood.
This god thinks the gray one is lacking the qualifications to even speculate on what the gods hate. Don’t worry my bespectacled friend, most gods don’t think much of midgardians, “mutant” or not.
Thank you??? I’ve learned to ignore people like that though. It’s just easier than acknowledging their opinion.
god hates all mutants, not just the brotherhood.
[Cap pm] I see. Full disclosure to you, Scott, I don’t think they’d take kindly to being checked in on.
[PM] I understand. And if it were up to me, it wouldn’t be a reason. But Xavier believes it’s the right thing to do. I think it’s just unnecessary.
But we’re already here and they know it, so it’s too late to just go back. Plus I’ve always wanted to see California.
[pm] It’s an idiom, idiot. This is your language. Keep up. I’m not sure you want to meet him. He’s our attorney.Â
Violent, yes. Excessive is a matter of opinion.
Sorry, Scottie we’re not into that. Besides, I doubt Xavier would let us in without a lobotomy for Wanda and cement shoes for me. Â
Who is this we? I was a terrorist. I believed in what I was doing even when I didn’t like Erik Magneto. And I said I didn’t care about your opinion. That doesn’t mean I don’t find your pain fascinating.Â
You were the one who brought it up.Â
[PM] I know, but maybe I really wanted a cookie. What do the two of you need an attorney for?
Too bad. But no, if it were up to me, I wouldn’t try to do that to your powers. With what the two of your are capable of, I’m a little jealous the Avengers got you. You want to know I can think for myself? I didn’t agree with Xavier about tampering with Wanda’s powers. So there’s that.
Well, you treat the X-Men like a cult, so I was running with it. Well, there’s a lot of it, so I guess one of use should get something out of it, huh?
Well usually when I bring it up I also get to handle it. So this is a first for me.
[pm] Well, samesies, Scottie. Want a cookie?
Fair enough. Oh and the red glasses? Matt Murdock wore it better.
No one is innocent. Not when mutant oppression is involved.Â
Sorry about your parents. I guess.Â
I do still have my sister. No thanks to you assholes.Â
I suppose it has flair to it. If you’re in a cult.
I knew you were bottling something up, I just figured you weren’t getting laid.
How did I start it?!?
[PM] I’d love a cookie. Are you offering? I’m sure he does. I’d like to meet him someday. Since we get so many comparisons. I’m not his son.
No, I suppose they’re not. But Magneto’s ideologies are still excessive and violent. I’m sorry about your parents too. I never wanted to separate you two. At least not permanently. You’re... Honestly? You two are a team, and a strong one at that. Speaking from a leadership standpoint, I’d want you both.
Who says we’re not in cults? It’s anger. Guilt.  But you don’t care, so why should I bother?
Start it, finish it, does it really matter?
WHERE WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO VISIT ON YOUR PLANET?
Canada, so I can return Wolverine.
Everywhere. I want to see the whole world.
What are some of your favorite memories when you began staying at Xavier's school?
Having a home that felt safe. Meeting Warren and Jean. No bullies or creepy guys out to get me. Coming to terms with what happened to my parents not being my fault.
I always liked having someone to talk to. Jean doesn’t always understand. Warren and I would talk all the time and it was nice having friends for once that understood what I was going through. Instead of mocking me for being different.
That and Hank upgrading my glasses and visor. He’s a pretty cool guy too once you get to know him. The science talk becomes easier to understand. Plus I like trying to get him to say “Oh my stars and garters!” in his most surprised and indignant voice possible.
We were all just kids when we started out. It’s easy to forget that with everything we’ve been through. But I’ve got a lot of memories of us just goofing off and trying to feel like we were normal.
[pm] And that doesn’t strike you as wrong. At all.
I didn’t realize you were self aware enough to know everyone hated you. Good for you, Scott.Â
Oh I think plenty of humans have been terrorized by the X-Men. At least I was doing it intentionally. There’s no Kool-Aid involved, Pink Eye, just good old fashioned radicalism. Attempted genocide will do that to a person. It’s kind of hard to turn the other cheek to your attackers when they’re too busy burning your parents to death to notice. I’m not saying I’m better than you. I wouldn’t dream of it. It’s just sad to watch someone so smart use his brain so little.Â
Oh and us lackeys prefer the term minion now. Or accomplice. Henchman works in a pinch. Figured a PC boy like you’d want to know. Although you get a vote too, being a lackey and all. Maybe I should have just gone with being an M-Man. I suppose it doesn’t matter now since I don’t have one boss dictating my life.Â
I have rage in me the likes of which you can’t possibly imagine, so kindly fuck off with your condescension. I’m mad at you, Xavier, McCoy, your girlfriend, your boyfriend, my father Magneto, Captain America myself, and the 405. And I don’t even have to drive.Â
You get more confusing as you age, Summers. Do you hit on everyone you have contempt for?
[PM] I never said that it didn’t. This is the most you’ve ever talked to me, so of course you don’t really know. We were both younger when we first, for lack of a better word, clashed. I did what I thought was right. What I was told was right.
Being hyper aware is one of my mutant gifts, it makes up for the fact that I can’t always see. That’s a joke. Sort of.
They’re terrorized because they’re afraid of all mutants. They all think we’re going to turn out like Magneto. I’m sorry about what happened to you, but losing everything doesn’t give you the right to hurt innocent people. I lost my parents as a kid too. They might not have been taken from me by radicals but they’re gone. At least you still have your sister. Where is Alex?
I think I prefer acolyte. It has a sort of flair to it.
Don’t act like you know what I’m feeling or what I can imagine. You don’t know a thing about me, Maximoff. Or how angry I am too.
I never said I had contempt for you. And you started it, Speedy. I just didn’t say no.
[pm] Doing what?
And does it bother you that I don’t like you, Scottie? Big hero like you? Because your rightness is so unassailable, so obvious, that I’m supposed to get it if I’m a hero now? You think I believe this zen bullshit for a second? Calmly hurting people doesn’t make you and your fucking team better than me. It makes you sick. It makes you disgusting. You say you’re for mutants but you sit in your school while they die. What you call patience I call cowardice. I’m never going to like you, Summers, just as no one from outside your stupid little world is going to. We’ve all lost too much waiting for your brand of heroism.Â
I’m sorry what?
[PM] Fighting.
No, it doesn’t. Your opinion of me means very little in the grand scheme of things. If I let everyone who didn’t like me or hated me get to me, then it’s all I’d be worried about. No, I don’t think you do, and I really don’t care if you do or not. But we’re not here to fight you again, or your sister, or even Magneto.
You act like we go around terrorizing people when, if i remember correctly, that was you and your sister. We’re not just sitting there on our asses, we’re trying to protect the students we have. Mutants are all over the world and the X-Men are working on changing the public’s view of us. That’s kind of difficult when people like Magneto are flying around killing and preaching superiority.
You’re angry and I don’t think you’re ready to admit who you’re really angry at. You can’t be mad at me when for most of your life, you were bullied into being a lackey for a terrorist.
I have made mistakes, the X-Men have made mistakes, but I’m not going to let someone who used to run around drinking Magneto’s Kool-Aid try and tell me I’m a terrible person. We could get along, but you won’t allow it and that’s fine. But don’t act like you’re somehow better than me now because the Avengers have accepted you. We’re two different people on two different teams.
You heard me. Don’t make offers you’re unable to make good on.
mxrvelgxrl replied to your post:You are making this recruitment very difficult.
It’s true, he is.
I’m just very set in my ways.
Did I mention that we have Magic tournaments every Tuesday?
Hard pass.
Uhm, no, but my answer stays the same. I’m going to decline your offer.
[pm]
Well, you’re noble to do so. And I’m sure you are better than you think. But regardless, it’s lovely of you to do so.Â
I hope one day people will stop hating on those with extra powers, be they from birth or be they from some other source. I’m glad the world has people like you to protect children from bad exposure or other dangers.
I like to try and see the good in most people. It’s hard sometimes, but I think to myself “If I can find one nice thing about you, I’m bound to find more.” Sometimes people are bad, but I’ve found a lot of folks in the world are quite good. Well, I like you too, so we’re a good match.
It’s neat. I like genetics a lot. Oh! Hank? I talked to him too! I think he’s in a book club that he invited me to. Thank you for that. That’s really lovely advice to hear.
[PM]
I’m not sure how much is nobility and how much is necessity. No one else is going to stand up for them. For us. I’m not a superhero.
I just wish I could understand why people accept the Avengers more than they accept mutants. But this isn’t the time for that. As long as the world is against us, I’m going to protect them.
Jean does a better job of it, though I think she has trouble too sometimes.
Hank is probably the smartest guy I know. Don’t tell the Professor I said that though. But I think the two of you would get along very well. You’d probably keep up better than I could. You’re welcome. I guess my inner teacher had to come out.
How about this. You come in for a day or three and experience the Hydra community before making a final decision. You'll get free funnel cake AND a super cool skin tight costume. You guys love skin tight costumes.
I do love skin tight costumes, but I’m going to have to decline your offer. I have plenty of responsibilities already. I’m just not sure Hydra is the right fit for me.
You are making this recruitment very difficult.
I’m a very stubborn person. Ask anyone who knows me.
