I will forever be grateful for you. You’ve shown me how to be happy through rough times; You’ve shown me parts of myself I didn’t believe were true; You’ve shown me that there are still genuine and loving people in this world; And most importantly, you’ve shown me how to love unconditionally.

Don’t say you love me because I’m the one you think about when you’re lonely. Don’t say you love me because I’m the only one who answers your call. Don’t say you love me because I help pass the time. You don’t love me. You love the attention. You love that I will always be here, no matter how much you use me.
-Maybe that makes me stupid. But maybe I just love the attention too.
You look at me like I put the stars in the sky. I hope to never change that gaze. And I hope to forever live up to your expectations. Because while you look at me like I deserve the world, you are the one that truly does.

I want to pretend I have more time with you. That good things really do last forever; That infinity is real with you. But I know as each minute together passes, it is one step closer to our end. One step closer to goodbye. Because one day, you will realize you deserve the world...and I have yet to earn it.

Maybe we need someone to love us because we need reminded that we’re worth it. Maybe that’s why it’s such a strong desire. It’s a reminder to ourselves that we have a purpose, even if it’s just to make one person smile.

How do we know what love is? How can you define something as big as that? You can’t. It’s different for everyone. For some it may be the look in your eyes. For others it may be the words you speak. For many, it’s the actions you choose to do. It’s impossible to put a definition. That’s why it’s so hard. You can love someone, express it in every way you’re capable of, and they may never know. That’s why it’s always a risk.
