Ava behind the scenes (Iron Lung 2026)
source source
i can't stop thinking about that scene in the beginning where simon is at the control panel and that shadowy figure darts off to the side where the computer is. and then parallel to that scene towards the end where simon is at the back of the sub and looks over to the control panel and sees that horrific (almost humanoid?) creature with too many teeth sitting in the chair and simon quickly darts over to hide by the computer almost like what that shadowy figure did in that earlier scene
idk maybe i'm still iswm pilled but that felt like some eldritch time loop shit. or simon literally seeing himself for the monster he is (or thinks himself to be)? or both???
Iron Lung was DRIPPING with old-school cool. If they had shot that movie on a somewhat shittier camera and told me it came out in the 80's, I would believe it easily.
Right down to the pacing that critics were complaining about.* At several points, it felt paced and even shot like Friday the 13th and Halloween specifically. Nothing "happens" in about 70-80% of those movies because that time is spent building suspense, establishing the presence of the horror in every shadow and around every corner until it feels inevitable when it finally arrives. Iron Lung did that, and represented it physically with cool and juicy special effects building up around the sub.
It also frequently had those same camera angles where you're not looking straight at Simon's face but over his shoulder, or at his reflection. Almost standing behind him like you're in there in the sub watching him. A couple times I found myself thinking "why are we looking at a blurry wide-shot of the back of mark's head" and actually I think That was why. You're Right Behind Him.
*(I actually didn't think it dragged much, as much as I hate that movies generally are two hours long these days. Aside from maybe one or two scenes that kinda spun in place for a few seconds too long, but I'm calling that a symptom of this essentially being a director's cut.)

I don’t like how some people say that deltarune chapter 3 was just a lazy chapter or just straight up mid, I’ve seen people call it rushed. But if I remember correctly, I heard that chapter 3 would be more about gameplay and fun stuff rather than a bunch of lore like chapter 4 did, and… come on, chapter 3 gave us so much, y’all cannot call it mid…
Made this animation in Blender as a tribute to all the mini games and fun battles with Tenna from Chapter 3! The new designs and costumes were a delight, so I couldn't help but model all of them and turn everything into an animation in 3D! 📺
