Ask clarifying questions to avoid miscommunication

Boss gets mad (thinks you are attempting to send an evil secret message that you hate them and/or don't want to do your job)

Please understand that I don't hate socialising in the way that allistics understand it. I like learning about people. I like the flow of a good chat. I like laughing and finding a soulmate. I like discovering a friend.

What I don't like is that none of it happens for me without a great deal of literal pain and exhaustion that can last for days.

Eye contact can literally give me a headache and make me feel nauseous.

Banter is confusing for me and can halt the conversation.

Monitoring my volume, tone, and facial expressions in real time is so tiring that I feel ready for a nap after 20 minutes.

And so much more is happening to me during a simple interaction. Let alone the rumination that occurs afterwards where I have to go through everything said to check for Social Interaction Anomalies™ that may make me a further outcast.

I like you. I do. I'm just so tired from last year still.
