[ i completely blanked on my rp account and went ghost unintentionally. life's taken a busy turn, i've been working on an etsy storepage and a loosely planned out webcomic-project ( www.littlelumilights.tumblr.com - for those interested ) and the owl and i are currently on a vaca in NOLA. but i'll be back in the swing of things come Monday. until then, i'll be working on drafts and replies ( to questions AND roleplays ) that are owed with hopes that my partners will still have me. i've missed my muse. i've missed you all. hello, it's good to be back. ]

11/19/2014 - 7 Signs You Have Seen A Ghost. Ghosts and spirits are everywhere. If you slowly turn around and focus, you might even get a glance of your friendly neighbourhood ghost Casper. According to experts, everyone receives a visit from ghosts, loved ones from the Other Side and even angels. Although it is believed that these visits are meant to be comforting, there are times when the presence of an otherworldly visitor can be unnerving and frightening. There are specific signs which tell you have encountered a ghost. The first sign is their presence which is typically not comforting. The moment you feel that your watched upon when alone in a room is when you have an unfriendly visitor. At this time, you might even begin to feel unexplained nervousness or go into a form of depression. For other people, a sudden cold spot or a ghostly human image is the other sign. For some people, they might also witness a kind of blur or a flash of movement. The best way of deciding if you have seen a ghost is to consider these signs. Here are some of the signs you have encountered a ghost, take a look. Source: Bold Sky
Why Don't You Come On Over, Valerie~
The element of surprise was lost to Valerie, though she didn’t mind. She wasn’t exactly one for stealth anyways, and it was nearly impossible to hide the light from her suit anyways, much less the light put off by her electrical attacks. What she did mind, however, was this ghost outright taunting her. It nearly caused her to go ahead and rush anyways, but experience told her that if this ghost was that confident in himself, he may be hiding abilities beneath an otherwise plain looking (at least in comparison to most of the other ghosts she’d fought) exterior.
"I’ll show you ‘Toro’," She muttered, narrowing her eyes. Instead of finishing the charge as she originally intended, she pulled up short, instead focusing the energy in her hand into a bolt that zoomed towards the other ghost. "Let’s see how you like a face full of lightning," She snapped back, already charging another blast should her first one manage to miss.
And it did miss. Barely.
Thankfully; depending on who you were rooting for. Stinkie counted himself in this lot.
As the blue ball of ecto-doom whizzed at his head, he sunk low enough to avoid it. But he could feel the heat.
"Hey! Are you actually trying to hit me??" Strike fleshie off the list. This thing---male, female, non-binary?---was far from human. He could feel the heat off whatever blast it threw at him. It was that close. Bigger issue; he felt it. The ripple of dread that passed over him was replaced by vexation. So much for harmless fun.
It looked like it was warming up for another pitch. "You wanna dance, lightning-bug?"
He snorted and opened his hand, spitting a baseball sized, slime-wad of whatever-stuff-he-was-made-of into his palm. Stinkie relocated a few feet to the right and returned fire on his short-tempered assailant. If the slime-wad hit, he didn't anticipate it doing much damage. But it might knock some sense into its target.
I didn’t know I was broken until I wanted to change I wanna get better
"Well, that’s rude, don’t you think?" Mary immediately responded, eyes still roving around her room. "I should be a lot of things, but I am not." She should be a normal human, but the fact that plants answered her every thought was proof enough she was anything but normal. A childhood dreaming about her adventures in Monstropolis started this journey, and here she was.
Of course, when he materialized, she jumped with a slight yelp. Not scared, not in the way he meant, no. Startled. A different sort of fear. Because her eyes narrowed, and her hands found her hips as she rounded to face him. “You were hiding! And that was rude! Just because you can scare someone does not mean you should.”
"And this is my home, and you should respect it as such. No more of that.” Ghosts didn’t scare her. The dark scared her. Being abandoned scared her. But, ghosts? They were just people. People without form, of course. But, people nonetheless.
"Why are you here?"
While he wasn't satisfied by her reaction, he was amused. Maybe a little annoyed at first. Then even more by the micro-lecture. But his joviality returned as he mimed her throughout, unable to keep his jagged smile in check.
Ending up with his hands on his own hips, Stinkie's rotten-lemon irises bore into hers.
"Skipping to the heavy hitters already? You fleshies always ask the most b o o o ring,"--albeit sound and sensible--," questions. Why am I here--Why are you here? Or anyone else for that matter?"
"You're a medium, right?" He quirked a brow. Popped it right up, as the corners of his mouth curled upward. "A fleshie that can hop the fence of one plane of existence to the other? So. Why do you think I'm here?" Any guess outside of dicking around would be wrong, of course. He'd been on a boo-run. Picked up an interesting aura. Found her. Completely accidental, like.
Right?

Doyle. The name rang a bell. Afterlife networking was a well knit web of deadheads. And Maine had been his haunt for a very long time. If he hadn't heard it from one source, he heard it from another. Then again, he heard a lot of things quite regularly. Oftentimes it was difficult to say if he actually heard it or if he'd imagined that he had---
There he was. Focusing on the minor details again. Been dead too long to keep a steady train of thought.
This...girl? Young woman---said she spoke to dead things. Loon. Medium. Shrink. All words for the same sort of fleshie.
He moved as her eyes did, mindful not to stay in one space for too long. "Being a fleshie, I'd say y'should be frightened..." Stinkie rounded her, until behind her he loomed. Gradually, like a telescope adjusting into focus, the ghost took shape and peered at her impishly over her shoulder.
"And I ain't hiding."
Why Don't You Come On Over, Valerie~
Once upon a time, Amity Park had actually been a rather peaceful place, in spite of the rather unfortunate name. Of course, that had been before the opening of the portal, a veritable hell’s mouth straight into the Ghost Zone, leaving all sorts of spooks and specters alike to haunt the place, trying to wreck havoc, and some even to try and take over the human world.
Introduce one Valerie Gray: Martial art instructor, college student, and also self-proclaimed most powerful ghost hunter in Amity Park.
Or at least she had been. That was before the very suit that had given her such a wonderful edge on the ghost hunting scene more or less turned on her, making her to be some sort of hybrid, someone not entirely alive, but not exactly dead. A half-ghost, to be exact. This didn’t mean she stopped the ghost hunting scene. Oh, no. In fact, if anything she was even more adamant about it than ever before.
Unfortunately, Valerie’s ghost sense had neither the range, nor the accuracy of her old ghost detecting gear prior to her rather undesired change, a fact which made patrolling for ghostly troublemakers all the more difficult than it used to be. And since her ghost sense was triggered more by the actual presence of a ghost, rather than the use of ectoplasmic power such as what her former equipment honed in on, she often got false alarms from the few somewhat more peaceful ghosts.
This didn’t seem to be the case, however, as a series of blood-curdling shrieks split the otherwise quiet night, making Valerie’s head snap in the direction it came from. Once she arrived at the scene, it was almost impossible to tell who or what had caused the commotion.
Almost.
While she couldn’t get an exact geographical pinpoint on the location of any particular ghost, her sense often could at least point her in the right direction, much like a compass’s needle pointing towards true north, and withing moments she was off, trying to focus on the ‘feeling’ as she hunted down the ghost she just knew had to have been responsible.
She could feel she was getting closer as she flew over the trees that made up the more forested section of the park, her keen eyes peering through the branches for any sign of a ghostly glow as she zoomed overhead.
…There!
She’d almost missed it, nearly sweeping right overhead of the ghost ambling at a far more leisurely pace. She looped around, preparing to charge in from behind, hoping to catch the ghost off its guard. Of course, the fault in this plan was the fact that there was no hiding the crackling of electricity as she lit up her fist in preparation for the strike.
Was that a breeze?
His eyes lazily peeled open, though only one could be seen uncovered by the ecto-formation of 'hair' at his forehead. It wasn't so much the cold he could feel, but the disturbance of the still air that made him pay more attention to his surroundings. Spying nothing ahead, he started to shrug it off...
Until he noticed that everything around him seemed brighter. The edges of the park's vegetation lit up from a source other than the moon above. Too close to be a helicopter. Too bright to be a street lamp. The sounds that bit at the air crackled and popped like bunches of brittle sticks breaking and rebreaking themselves to oblivion. An odd sensation; a prickling between his shoulder blades--or rather, where they had been--that traveled up his neck to the tip of the tail on his head.
Stinkie turned his head to see what was behind him. The rest of his body whipped around quickly when he saw someone--something coming at him. And coming fast.
He'd heard of lightning bugs, but this was something ripped right off the pages of some fleshie space-fic. And whatever it was, it wasn't human.
And that meant it might be fun.
A quick counterclockwise spin and he took on the confident countenance of a matador. It was an act. All show for an audience unseen. He held out his arms to his right, brandishing an invisible red cape and pretended to wave it about a little.
"Toro, toro!" He said with a laugh resonating in his tone.
