expanding on this because i LOVE this fact and HATE that people dont get it shoved it into their heads more but this. is literally the entire plot of the film. he is supposed to be the abused big scary guard dog.

he has a sweet heart but hes too terrified to open it up to anyone but family, and the family sees that open heart and stomps on it like a roach.

may i also add on that THIS DOES NOT EXCUSE HIS ACTIONS. ding ding ding!! reminder to every slasher glazer out there! they're called slashers for a reason! leatherface still wears other people's faces.

even still, his family is disgustingly cruel for putting him through this and he is forever the most micharacterized slasher in fiction. any grown, adult horror-merch-collecting man that tells you otherwise lacks SEVERE media literacy.
