Heyyyy quick question, what app or program do you use to draw, and what tools? It's just that, I want to start drawing on digital (my tablet) but have literally no clue of where or how to start lol
So so sorry for the late reply Iāve been overseas for the last 3 weeks!!
I want to just say that Iāve been drawing digital for years now and I am by no means a master at it, butt Iāll try to at least give some good adviceš (Iāll even put in a picture of what my art looked like in 2021 compared to now at the end)
Anyway, I use my 6 year old iPad Air with an Apple Pencil. As soon as I got this baby charged and working I downloaded Procreate for around $10AUD (honestly itās because all the cool artists I looked up to used it). But now Iāve come to learn now that itās great for beginnersā¦
But Iām taking that in stride because it really IS easy to use, a bonus is it has no subscription and no ads (like SOME other drawing appsš)ā¦
Unfortunately though, it only is available for Apple products, so if you donāt have that I guess I can also recommend MediBang Paint and Ibis Paint too but Iāll be honest with you: they just didnāt do it for me.
It can be awkward going from pencil and paper to digital so I feel like a great piece of advice I can give for an artist whoās strong suit is traditional art is this: draw it on paper first, take a photo and loosely trace and colour it on your tablet. (Man I still do this sometimes- the piece of art at the end is even loosely traced) This, I feel, is what helped me get a feel for the new medium.
But if Procreate is available, I also downloaded two brush packs that I constantly use to this day, they are; Awk Brush Pack and Rosierās pack āFresque de l'Ange Blanc" (but Iāve only been using the oil pastelš
)
Brush packs are easy to find on Pinterest but Iām sure you could also just search it up online.
Speaking of Pinterestā¦ As far as what tools I used go I uhā¦ donāt really use anything besides Pinterestā¦ But Iām gonna be real with you, once Iām in a fandom I love I use that to motivate the CRAP out of me
Iād highly recommend also posting your artwork to tumblr, Iāve found that people on here are very inviting. Itās a great space to connect with other amazing artists! Or you could at least share it with friends. Iām a dopamine junkie so I love when people like my posts and give me compliments, it really keeps me going
