random stranger things post bc im only a lowkey fan (got into it because of the science aspect like a month ago)
what the HELL WAS THAT! WHAT WAS THAT! im not even gonna mention the ships (im editing this before posting i lied i mention most of them) other than jancy because it was genuinely terrible handling.
we are in The Goop™ and it is rising faster than we are talking but somehow we are able to get out some whispered confessions (movie magic). and we just? break up? now dont get me wrong! i WANTED single nancy. i adore her but her decision making this season has been strange at best and catastrophic at worst. lets shoot the giant invisible ball in the sky That Will Go Well. they massacred my poor girl. also i didnt know that that was a breakup scene, i thought it was just amicable marriage rejection, and i actually found it to be quite sweet and romantic, but then the article came out and theyre broken up? sure. i was so ready for both of them to die because it truly seemed hopeless, and they seemed to be ready to go even if they were frightened. it wouldnt have been a fair death but i dont think death in media necessarily has to be fair, just well done. and it wouldve have been VERY well done. but The Goop™ is solid now. so everythings fine. also they didnt even explain why everything stopped melting like okay where did the exotic matter go. WHY are we okay? WHY has it stopped Gooping™?
pacing was highkey weird to the point it actually pissed me off quite a lot. im not against holly screen time, i think she got the amount she deserves because she was the ideal main character for this series. the actress is incredible and i didnt find a single moment where she missed the mark or irritated me, just solid acting. however. what the hell was the pacing. i feel like stranger things is a big collection of bad thing happen nearly die, LONG conversation, bad thing happen AGAIN nearly die, LONG conversation at an inopportune moment. like yeah action shows tend to do that but twice in one season max has just kind of stood there dumbfounded while the door is about 20 steps away from her. holly getting out was good, shes earned her walk em down wheeler title imo, and she had good quick thinking that should have saved her. i think she shouldve had longer time away from henry after escaping, to hammer home the feeling of despair because she mustve been out for what? 10 minutes? just didnt feel worth 4 episodes full of We Are Getting Out.
visual effects in this season were stunning icl, like the makeup is phenomenal and all those army deaths were so insane like hell yeah actually.
im a lucas fan and lumax was so excellent this season. i actually nearly cried when she came back dude i missed them so much. lucas has been so strong with the group and the banter with erica (diva of the world) is so good just like me and my baby brother icl.

i am a mike fan dont kill me with guns please (second to lucas) but im starting to get annoyed with the fact that we havent had any properly serious mike pov stuff since idk? season 2? dare i say season 1 since the scene im thinking of in s2 is the shed and im 99% sure thats wills pov. it might be my fault for interpreting it like this but weve been losing more and more actual core 4 stuff and its getting me down. theyre hardly ever in the same room all at once, much less go on adventures together. i used to think mike was meant to be the mc of this show because of season 1 but we deadass havent had anything substantial since then. love my boy and i love analysing him he is my firstborn son but weve had breakdown scenes from like every character except him in s5 can we PLEASE put that brunette in a situation!
kalis gonna die in the wormhole and not jane im calling it now because theres no way netflix would let the brothers duff kill their golden girl. good actually i dont want jane to die. she has non stop suffered for like a million billion years and then she finds out that she is basically a clone of Evil McNasty man and her sister and dad are fighting and her brother is being possessed for the 90th time and the world is also about to fuse with another world. jane ives you are worlds strongest person. but yeah i doubt shes dying lmao.

it was set up to be an intimate moment between will and joyce. excellent. as it shouldve been. and then they introduce mike to equation. even better! best friend of over 10 years and also his crush, this would have been a good and potentially even healing conversation between two people he cares about significantly. and then he goes Lets invite The Whole Crew Actually. what?
on paper, it makes sense. hes outing himself to prevent vecna from doing it for him. in practice, half of that room were strangers. i highly doubt that in 3 days will went from shaking about the idea of even being gay and skirting around actually telling robin outright, to coming out abruptly to a room full of people you either just met or have only met in passing or your SCIENCE TEACHER. AND A RANDOM FUCKING GUY WHO HAS THE CADENCE OF A TERRIBLE SNL SKETCH. I HATE MURRAY I WANT MURRAY DEAD I WANT HIM DEAD.
also (again im not discussing byler until the finale because. because i do what i want) the concept of referring to your crush as your "Tammy" when 3 total people in the room know what that means. its such a pivotal moment that currently has shipwar twitter mag dumping each other, but it objectively means nothing. your best friend of 10 years is coming out to you and youre nervous about supporting him and then he starts blabbering about the girl who used to go to your school who sounds like a muppet for some reason.
