Citizen Science at Work
Just dropping this for anyone who may be interested. This is for the southeast US (Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina), on August 21 & 22. From my understanding, you pick a plant, and sit at it for 15 minutes, noting all of the bugs that come pollinate it, then you send in your results!
Mantis tail go swish
Saw a post and decided to fix it ^^
i wish there was a way to calmly explain to bugs how to exit your house theres this yellowjacket crawling on the window and i wanna help her get out without potentially stressing her out in the process
They're not yellowjackets, but when I walk to an open window or door and point outside, they will fly out. Just did this three days ago with a wasp stuck inside and circling around the ceiling. I don't know how it works but it was just that easy? Maybe they're just aware of my presence and it draws their attention to the exit.
If they're trapped on a window, you could use a cup/container and paper to catch and release the wasp tho. Taking a couple of minutes to catch and release a wasp isn't going to be more stressful that whatever the wasp experiences out in nature anyway
