TWO of my hens are broody at the moment. And both Dolly and Toasty insist on using the same nesting box! None of those eggs are even real! Toasty especially does not like being bothered. She had many words for me.
Also, here's Toasty being the orbiest of borbs from the above video.
revised my chicken post, still very basic but its an intro to appearance

Chiggin :)
They're trying to take a dust bath. In the grass. And on the towel. Guess it's time to get that ready for em!
I am a very suspicious jungle gym.
Babies' first time outside! Almost can't put em in the box they came in anymore. They're growing so fast!
Also I was wrong and they were absolutely able to fit through that mesh. But they came right back through lol.

Gabby is the 1st chick to be named! Honestly I think she just wants to steal my body heat lol.
The children have a TikTok as well!
BABIES HAVE ARRIVED!!!
Goin ahead and gettin the brooder set up so it's ready! I washed the feeder and waterer and they're drying at the moment. I read to put paper towels on top of the bedding for like the 1st day, just until they learn what/where their food is.
Does anyone have suggestions for good leg bands to help me identify my chicks? I want to be able to tell the 6 individuals apart until I can tell by looking at them. I keep seeing colored zip ties but those make me nervous somehow? Or are they ok? And I know whatever I use I'll have to keep going up in size until they're fully grown. Which hopefully by that point I won't need the bands anymore.
*vibrates with excitement*
