But guys don’t worry though, she was NOT usurped because she was a woman!!!
"The whole point is there there are no good or bad sides" if rhaenyra was a man this argument wouldn't exist. He'd still be usurped because the greens want the throne and you'd all be egging him to fight for his birthright.
Bruh, if she were a man, the entire premise falls apart. Viserys would have no reason to push Aemma so hard to have more babies if he already has a male heir. Yes, he would want a spare, but the urgency would be greatly diminished, meaning she would have had more chances to survive. And even if she doesnt and he remarries, the green cause would be dead in the water.
All those reasons people cite for Rhaenyra being 'unfit' would be null and void. Had premarital sex? Omg who cares, she's a man, men can have premarital sex all they want that has no bearing on his right to the crown. Had bastards? Okay, and? It's his wife's fault for not giving him trueborn kids, Vizzy should let him annul the marriage and find a better wife, or legitimize the boys ala Ramsey in cannon (cause in this universe, there's no need to hide them cause men having bastards is perfectly accepted and no one would accuse him of treason or use his bastards as a reason against his very claim). Andal law says maleRhaenyra can't inherit? Wtf are you talking about, he's a son, firstborn sons come first? The green kids are in danger! How, they're just second sons? Male Rhaenyra has no reason to kill them, because they're spares, same as any other younger brother in the realm. And they're protected under the widow's law.
The greens wouldn't even have Daemon Blackfyre's reason to usurp, aka Viserys secretly wanting Aegon on the throne because he was pretty adamant in cannon. They'd have to usurp on the basis of naked ambition, and that wouldnt have gone over well, especially if MaleRhaenyra is liked (and he would be liked cause all the traits George gave her—charm, boldness, entitlement, a strong temperament, confidence—are valued in men.) The only way they'd succeed would be if they had more dragons than Rhaenyra (which they don't) or if Rhaenyra ended up being worse than Maegor (which wouldn't happen because if she became a man, all her actions during the war would be reframed as austerity necessary for her to win. Like Aegon LITERALLY keeps her taxes, executes traitors and overall does the same as she once he reclaims the crown, and yet no one calls him Maegor)
They'd go the way of Renly, except with no magic, cause there would literally be no legal justification to give them even a veneer of an excuse.
I just noticed that Captain Kaido was also gauging Attendant Grymish's reaction to the incoming false flag
You can briefly see him turn to Grymish the moment his ISB Tech comms the sniper
He also waits to see if Attendant Grymish has any reaction/objection before leaving
Captain Kaido stopping to look at Syril "ffs this guy again"
At one point I thought these two were going to confront each other.
I assumed Kaido was gonna find out that Dedra and Syril was a thing. And that Syril was a liability because he was quite the only thing stopping Dedra from greenlighting the false flag.
Or Syril was gonna get his answers from someone else if Dedra didn't spill. And where better to get an answer than the guy literally overseeing the coming massacre.
interesting that during his visit to Star Wars Weekend: Smuggler's Surrey, Jonjo O'Neill is striking the same pose as Kaido was on his first appearance
or maybe Kaido is striking the same pose as Jonjo lol
‘even now I do not blame my ancestors. one look at those long silver locks. it is not every day a man gets to ride a dragon’
"I stand this morning with a difficult message. I believe we are in crisis. The distance between what is said and what is known to be true has become an abyss. Of all the things at risk, the loss of an objective reality is perhaps the most dangerous. The death of truth is the ultimate victory of evil. When truth leaves us, when we let it slip away, when it is ripped from our hands, we become vulnerable to the appetite of whatever monster screams the loudest. This Chamber’s hold on the truth was finally lost on the Ghorman Plaza. What took place yesterday… what happened yesterday on Ghorman was unprovoked genocide! Yes! Genocide! And that truth has been exiled from this chamber! And the monster screaming the loudest? The monster we’ve helped create? The monster who will come for us all soon enough is Emperor Palpatine!"
ANDOR - Season Two (2025)
Finding out that Jonjo O'Neill can sing...
now the only thing that would've made the Ghorman massacre more terrifying would be hearing Captain Kaido sing their anthem, as they were being shot down
i'm listening to the Andor ISB Panel right now and Jonjo O'Neill said something along the line of "At one point I was gonna smile and I remember covering it... I covered it 'cause I knew I couldn't smile... and it was easier believing it than not"
now i'm not a native english speaker, but did he mean he was smiling on set dressed as Kaido, but it was out of character?? Or was he referring to this scene 👇 and that he couldn't smile properly due to the scar make up??
if the former, i'd love to see it in a blooper
if the latter, that would explain why he smiles so minimally
