Well for what it’s worth, Red, while your posts can sometimes be harsh and rude, that’s honestly ok. You’re allowed to be, comes with the full emotional experience. In a way, despite the sharp, uncomfortable edges that it comes with, I kind of appreciate the brutal honesty. Telling people who get too friendly to fuck off, while to some people maybe a bit too big of a reaction, its at least honest. You’re not mincing words. It gets the message across at least.
I don’t pretend to know you. At least I can say though that your posts are almost relieving in a way. A firm reminder of your assuredness in yourself and your boundaries. There’s appreciation to be had there
Try not to let the weirdos on site get to you, though I’m not too worried you will. You’re worth having and thriving, and you keep the rest of yourself alive and protected
authenticity is in short supply these days. everybody's mincing words to be more palatable. putting on that customer service smile. i can't judge anyone for it, keeping your head above water as a creative often requires it. but it's something that i realized very early on, i found utterly distasteful. so i make no effort to maintain a persona. and i remind everyone, as often and as forcefully as i feel required to, that i am a human person, and that i demand to be treated respectfully. it's not what everybody wants from their content creators, i understand that. but i've found that some are attracted by it. for those who find the plastic artifice of mainstream content creators off-putting, it almost serves as a niche of its own. it's part of my brand at this point, i suppose. everything has its place.
