one gov research paper and one Gothic translation are all that separate me from being a senior in college.
...well, that and packing up my entire room.

Sunny evenings call for dinner by the pond with friends and lots of laughs.
Just registered for my senior year at Smith.
I feel old.
Congrats, 2019 Smithies!
If any of you have any questions about Smith, feel free to message me! (I’m a junior English major and Government minor, and a research assistant in the English department, so I’m probably not your best bet for science questions--sorry!)
Today I did a Smith Instagram takeover, where I got to show what Smith is like from my perspective. Go check it out! :)
Finally declared my minor in Government! I wish I had time to double major, but I suppose a minor will do.

Spring Semester Update
I finally have a chance to sit down and write about how my spring semester is going so far! Winter break flew by, and I can't believe I'm already in the second half of my junior year. Pretty soon I'll be technically considered a senior, which is both riveting and terrifying. I'm already plenty busy with classes, work, and hanging out with my friends, but I think this semester is going to be pretty great. In particular, I'm excited about:
My art class--it's about both print and digital typography, which is a topic I've always loved but haven't learned much about. I was really into web design when I was in middle school and first recognized my love of typefaces then, so I'm so excited to finally get to take a class on it.
Applying for internships--Ok, so this one is both exciting and terrifying. About a week ago, I went on a one-day trip to New York City, organized by Smith's career center, with a group of Smith students. We toured three prominent publishing companies and met with Smith alums who work there, and I instantly fell in love with the city and the industry. I'll be looking to use Praxis funding to hopefully be in New York for the summer. Here's hoping everything falls into place!
Declaring my minor in Government--I've given it a lot of thought and have decided to declare my Gov minor this semester! After this semester I'll only have 2 more classes in the department until I fulfill the requirements, so I decided to just go for it. I don't plan on doing anything related to government when I leave Smith, but I really love it so why not, right?
As always, please let me know if you have any Smith-related questions! My ask is always open.
#Repost @itsjustjesse with @repostapp. ・・・ Juno may have been a bust, but Parkies’ fort building skills certainly aren’t! #snowday #smithcollege #parkhousepride
So proud of my fellow Parkies for this awesome snow fort.
Happy first day of the spring semester, Smithies! (And fingers crossed for the first snow day of the year tomorrow!)
Bought this book for a class I'll be taking this semester and already can't stop reading it... Oops.
Rang in 2015 with a little hot chocolate and crafting.
I love being at Smith, but there's something special about the end of fall semester--going home, relaxing, and enjoying all my favorite things about the holiday season.
As all my friends know, I take my hot chocolate very seriously and pretty much live off it all winter. My favorite thing to do at Christmastime is to make a mug of peppermint hot cocoa, get all cozy in bed, and watch Christmas episodes of my favorite shows on Netflix.
Merry Christmas Eve to all who celebrate it!
5 semesters down, 3 to go!
Just took my last exam! Christmas break can now begin!
To all my fellow Smithies still working: be kind to yourselves. Your grades are not a reflection on your intelligence or your self-worth.
Finals 2014 Check-List:
8-page government final
15-page seminar paper
literary tradition exam
art history final project & short statement
Getting there! And my seminar paper is 1/3 of the way done... baby steps!
Edit 12/13, 3:30pm: 4 more pages to go of my seminar paper! Edit 12/14, 12:49am: SEMINAR PAPER IS DONE! It needs a lot of editing, but I'll worry about that tomorrow...
CONGRATULATIONS
Congratulations to all of the ladies who were accepted “early decision” this evening!
Congratulations to the first members of Class of 2019! Welcome to Smith!
For those of you who get into Smith Early Decision today... congratulations and welcome! We're all so excited for you :) Feel free to ask me any questions you may have!
