it should deeply disturb all of us (trans or otherwise) that a cis black woman was killed for the suspicion of being trans. That is the world we are living in. Trans women of color are killed every day, and now, cis women of color who are even suspected of being trans are facing the same threat. It's terrifying to think that this just happened and I suspect it won't be the last time. I've heard many a story of cis women being harassed for their "appearing trans", and it's so heartbreaking and infuriating. Please just look out for each other.
sorry but i think we have got to start including masculine women in discussions about feminism because most discussions about womanhood rn are genuinely so alienating and so divorced from a lot of masc womenās experiences that weāre basically defined out of womanhood lmao. and i donāt mean women who wear baggy shirts and pants i mean MASCULINE women who get called sir by service workers and who get stared at in womenās restrooms. so many of our experiences are the direct result of misogyny but because theyāre not the typical experiences of feminine women theyāre ignored entirely.

itās good when someone who thought they were bisexual realizes theyāre a lesbian and when someone who thought they were a lesbian realizes theyāre bisexual. both of those moments deserve at least a tasteful brunch celebration
Ahahah, guys I put my jeans on this morning that have holes in and one of the holes lines up perfectly with my tattoo š
Loooook
you can have long hair and b butch pass it along.
this isnāt abt uwu feminine women can be butch or me as a bi woman trying to undermine lesbians in any way. itās abt the lack of consideration for women who subvert or reject femininity without cutting their hair. i have seen here n on like twitter (gag) convos about how you canāt āreallyā be butch unless you cut your hair.
the idea that you HAVE to cut your hair to be butch is an extremely white one. butches of color donāt have to divorce themselves from their culture or the importance of their hair to their personhood in order to b validly butch.
the idea that long hair = womanly/feminine is very white. there are so many cultures of color where long hair is not gendered. there are cultural and religious traditions where cutting hair is not common, if not outright discouraged. there are hairstyles that are revered or culturally important that wouldnāt be possible with short hair. thereās a litany of meaningfulness in hair. everyone has different relationships with their hair, and thatās an individual, personal relationship that cannot be defined by anyone else.
like the majority of Black lesbians i know, especially those who ID as butch or studs, donāt have short hair. braids, locs, fros, slicked back ponytails, etc. are very common. and i would truly pity the fool who tried to tell them they arenāt being properly butch.
like... ppl rlly need to be mindful of the cultural implications of what they consider to be āuniversalā or essential attributes to an identity. race and culture are always intertwined with other identities. if youāre only looking at a white perspective, you are leaving so many ppl out.
this oneās gonna be good
