Okay, that last picture may be my favorite I’ve ever taken for this series. Their poses are just too perfect, better than I imagined!

And the movie. Moviemoviemovie. What can I say that hasn’t already been said? (I should have made this yesterday. All the other tumblrs were making things yesterday. I’m so behind!)

One more thing! I spent my afternoon linking all the Nendo photosets together! Now you can navigate them much more easily, especially if you’re new to my blog. If anyone actually tries it out from the beginning, will you let me know how it goes in the comments of this post? I’m worried about dead ends, or getting people stuck in a time loop or something.

Idea: the movie uses a framing device Victor prepping for his upcoming nationals, having him reflect on his first senior competitions while also talking to (& coaching, obv) Yuuri long distance during the current day. That way we get modern day Victuuri interaction, Victor backstory, and prob Yuuri backstory (because he has own reflections too) and the drama of the upcoming nationals vs Yurio. Yuuri vs Victor on ice won't happen until season 2, but at least it won't have to deal with backstory.

I like this idea! Especially the way it ties in all three main characters.

I think what I’d like to see most in the YOI Movie is what’s talked about in this post. What if Yuuri and Victor’s adolescent stories are told at the same time, and they come together at certain points in their lives? Like at competitions.

Keep in mind that Kubo-sensei - (I think it was her, though it might have been one of the other creators) - confirmed that Victor DID know who Yuuri was during the “commemorative photo” scene in Episode 1. Maybe he’s seen Yuuri before at competitions and was honestly shocked when Yuuri walked away. I know Victor only pays attention to people he finds interesting, but it doesn’t really make sense that the Sochi GPF was the first and only competition they ever skated in together. Especially considering their ages and length of time participating in the sport.

Anyway, I would LOVE seeing a story where Victor was aware of Yuuri throughout the years. The movie could end with them meeting at the Sochi banquet and perfectly tie into Season 1.

Now I think this first scene of the anime is possibly showing in the movie too.

Yuuri seems to be wearing the uniform of the Japanese juniors group? He can see Victor on the ice rink, it is snowing outside, the juniors group and the adult group are at the same time so he may have seen the practice of Victor.

I believe I recall Yuuri’s voice actor saying he asked the creators about the background of this scene.

When asked to share what he’d learned, he said, “I’ll never tell.”

Which sounds like a spoiler. A spoiler we never saw revealed in Season 1.

So it might indeed be a scene in the movie.

I always thought his comment was in reference to the shot of older Yuuri in that scene - the way he seems so determined, like he and Victor have agreed upon something - but now that I think about it, his comment could also reference the shot of them when they’re younger.

Maybe both play into the movie.

(which could mean yuuri in the movie yay)
