the pose is meant to be a dip in the dance and i tried to mimic the wrist grab so instead of holding her hand, he’s grabbing her wrist. he's also grabbing her coat instead of her waist.

edega is controlling her body using the flow, so ada’s not in control during this. she’s still very much conscious though. she knows what’s happening, and it terrifies her. he's controlling her body, her flow, her life force.

he’s correcting her posture and her dance, making her 'perfect'

anyway yeah i picture that ada collapses on her knees at the end, her colors desaturated and her flow drained.

Stacy comes from Eternyx, a place of darkness where she grew up tinkering with machinery, eventually making four robotic birds. She built them wishing there were beautiful birds in Eternyx, having only ever seen pictures of them from other planets.

One day, she visits Sun Horizon for a sort of vacation, though in reality, she had gotten into some trouble in Eternyx and fled. She brings her birds, of course. They’re her children.

As they fly around during a clear day, one of them crashes into a volleyball net and bounces off, flinging itself straight into a firm chest.

The bird, dazed and confused, sits in the hands of a young Stanley, a native of Sun Horizon. 

Having been one of the people who regularly surveyed the jungle, he had extensive knowledge of wildlife, and he had never seen a bird like this before, never seen one made of metal.

As he inspects it, the bird jolts back to life and immediately starts pecking Stanley because WHO ARE YOU YOU AREN’T MOTHER STRANGER DANGER ATTACKKKK.

That’s when Stacy finally notices. She runs over and whistles, calling off her bird, who immediately flies back to her along with the rest of her flock.

Stanley and Stacy meet eyes and... well, Stanley falls in love at first sight.

Shaking off the shock, he smiles and asks if they’re hers, to which she replies yes, she made them herself. He compliments her, telling her he specializes in wildlife and hasn’t quite seen birds like hers before.

She asks him to tell her more, and he invites her to walk around the jungle with him.

Stacy hesitates for a moment. Having lived in Eternyx her whole life, she’d grown up expecting danger at every turn, but the way Stanley talked and the promise of seeing real birds was too tempting.

She accepts his offer, and the rest is history.

Now, she and Stanley live together in Sun Horizon with their birds, who’ve gone from attack birds to more or less their children, flying freely through the jungles and bringing trinkets back to their mother and spare human.

Mark definitely was the one to pull Edega into a dance when they were young, encouraging the guy to have fun with it. Eventually dancing with him became less frequent when they moved to Dancity, and when they did, Edega was more distant.

Eventually Mark couldn’t take the pressure from Edega, from his judgmental gaze every time he stumbled in dance, every time his flow wavered. He knew Edega could sense it wavering, but who’s fault was that really? 

Dancing wasn’t fun anymore.

So he moved away to Melosia. He was hired by a nymph who let him manage her library of knowledge; she taught him how to harness the flow himself and how to work with it. He found peace, but there was always something missing. Something had changed with his flow ever since Edega became distant.

One day he pushes himself too far harnessing flow and falls ill. The nymph advises him to go back to that hospital in Dancity, and who is he to question her? 

During his stay his flow falters, then dies out. He goes still; with no flow, his body goes into a comatose state.

Then suddenly he’s back and flow is in his body. All he sees is Edega forcing flow into his body, forcing his drum to beat so he lives, forcing him to move damnit. By gods, his heart is pounding from it. He’s weak, and with each beat his physical body falters, but Gabe isn’t about to let him die, not when he’s this close to making that miracle happen.

anyway yeah then 7-X happens blah blah blah cole harnesses the flow correctly blah blah blah we leave the politician in space blah blah blah connectifia abortus is defeated

By the end of it, Edega gives Mark some of his flow, leaving him weakened with Mark feeling better than he has in a long while. They dance together as the intern works their magic, taking things one step at a time. At the final move, their flow is restored to the rhythm it should be.

Mark’s physical body is healed, but Edega’s, in straining himself, collapses. 

and now edega is the one who needs physical therapy and to relearn how to dance yayyyy
