I hate it when I see a gorgeous piece of ship art and everyone in the comments are like “LOVE THE ART!!…hate the ship.” “Ew.” “I see them more as friends/siblings!!” And the ship in question are two unrelated consenting adults.

Like… no, stop. If you don’t like the ship, don’t even interact with the art. You’re allowed to dislike a ship but don’t go into someone’s comments and just complain.

The art people post online is FREE art. It’s a gift. And it’s so disrespectful to spit on that gift.

I really like Ragatha x Ribbit and want to draw them together but I don’t just want fluff of them.

I want to try to dig deeper than that. Like why didn’t Ragatha comfort Ribbit when she was isolating herself? And why didn’t Ribbit ask Ragatha for help? Was Ragatha jealous of Ribbit? Does Ragatha treat Pomni the same way she treated Ribbit? And if so, did she try to recreate the same relationship with Pomni that she had with Ribbit?

I dunno. I wish we got to see who Ribbit was outside of Jax. Tbh I feel like all the characters only exist to serve Jax and it makes me even more disappointed in the show.

Literally, 1 million percent agree that it feels like all the other characters exist to serve Jax. Especially by the ending. Pomni’s entire storyline revolving around Jax pissed me off. I do think that Jax intentionally isolated Ribbit so that they wouldn’t feel comfortable asking anyone for help, because Jax is a POS who only cares about herself...distracting Ragatha from seeing Ribbit because she knows Ragatha wants to be friends, telling Kaufmo not to trust Ribbit “if (she) says anything about her,” Jax being overly cautious of Ribbit using her vulnerability as a weapon. We’re also unfortunately only seeing Jax’s perspective, so maybe Ragatha DID check on Ribbit. We’ll never fuckin know! 🫠

I personally adore the concept of Ragatha and Ribbit bonding over shared religious trauma. I do like the idea of Ragatha being a repressed lesbian who’s also Southern Baptist or something, and when/if Ribbit tells her “my parents are Mormon and I’m…not” she tells her she gets it and that she’s struggling with her beliefs. And then they make out or something idk I’m not a writer.

But yeah, I will gladly die on the hill that every character is undercooked. And I feel like Kinger’s more of a plot device and Mr. Exposition than an actual character. We barely got to see him sane and I think the horror of losing your wife wasn’t explored enough…

Ooo I never considered that Ragatha could have religious trauma too but I really like it! Them being able to confide in one other about their shared experiences with religion would be so sweet… Ribbit could be the first person that Ragatha told about how abusive her mother was, and Ribbit comforting her- :((

Yeah, I agree that all the characters are undeveloped. Especially in the final where none of them reacted like normal people and they just accepted that they weren’t real after like- 5 minutes? The show doesn’t let you marinade in your thoughts long enough to make the scenes feel impactful.
