Hello Tumblr World...

So, I’m not entirely sure how this works anymore. I’ve been looking at my old posts, thoughts i’ve shared, poems, memories...and i feel that this is exactly where i should be again.

I came back because i just watched “Crime Scene: The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel” (which was a great docuseries on Netflix, I’m sure you’ve all heard of but if you haven’t yet, check it out) and Elisa Lam really made me realize how at home I felt here all those years back. I could literally share my thoughts out to the public and know that they’re being shared to someone, anyone, without having to confront the need to share. And quite frankly I think I need that sometimes these days....it hasn’t been easy to deal with a lot of the things going on and even if I don’t share all that much here, it’s nice to know I can have a place to do so if i needed to.

Also, it was really cool being able to come back and see the thoughts I was sharing, sort of remind myself what place I was in 7..8 years ago. It wouldn’t hurt to have that again in another 7-8 years.

A Reminder

If you feel like you are short-circuiting as we approach the one year mark, know that this is allowed, not weakness in any way. You were not built to sustain all of this and though you can and will, part of that will be experiencing waves of deep sadness, anger, and hopelessness.

There is an end in sight, almost.

Keep doing the things that keep you sane. Keep taking care of your people. Let yourself feel grief, there is a lot to grieve. If you are used to being a cheerleader but can’t bring the energy, it’s okay to just be here.
