I finally watched the HFG insta promo. It's pretty much what I expected, I'm terrified etc.

I'm still hung up on trotskyist gollum. I can't believe this is canon. Though I actually believe Gollum is spiritually a Sternerist, at least materially. Trotskyist LOTR tracks tbh. I'm in pieces. The LOTR franchise was a mistake

Gollum stealing the babies of Dale to eat them is probably the last thing I expected to draw in all my life…. ANYWAY, I think this is an interesting scary idea from @vampire-hubby. And I want to hope, in the end, Bard found the strength to draw his sword and protect his grandson.

Some Starless AU Rock Facts

-- Rock has mange. He claims to the softpaws when he's an adult that staying beneath the earth has caused him to loose his fur but there's a reason he's isolated as a "healer." He got mange and the clan gave him a new job. He sees that as casting him out.

-- Rock tore out his own eyes during a fit of madness when he got trapped in the tunnel.

-- He's a cannibal.

-- Rock is the "first" Dark Forest Cat. Once a "religion" was formed, the dark forest began to accept members instead of just being a dark place cats got lost in at times.

-- Jay's Wing ultimately killed Rock. He went in as a soft paw and Rock tried to kill him. Jay's Wing was too quick and partially to survive and in grief to find out his friend Fallen Leaves was killed by Rock, Jay's Wind started a rockslide and closed the tunnels. This inspired him to go to the mountains and move away because of the danger beside the lake.

-- Rock's Voice Actor is Edward Bosco aka Alastor from Hazbin Hotel.

-- Rock's mange isn't contagious in the afterlife but he still has to suffer with it. He ultimately starved to death and he looks like it.

-- I'm drawing the underwater scene with Flametail and Jayfeather right now.

-- Rock is floating about in the forest when the dark forest returns to the forest. He's so happy to have cats to be around him again. Nobody likes him. Everyone is creeped out by him. But Rock is the one who tells them they can physically interact with the living world during all times.

-- Tigerstar likes that.

So gollum was technically aristocratic (by early hobbit standards) before he found the one ring and became a creature. But wouldnt it be funny if his self image was still linked to that trait in some way. Like no he has to walk on all fours and only eat raw fish. But he's also just kind of prissy. If you pay close attention you'll notice that he is on top of everything else, kind of a weenie.
