1, 16, 24 for the hockey asks game?

How/when did you get into hockey?

The when, is this year, the how is a little more complicated. I'd been top-toeing around it for awhile, partly because of the uncharted depths of the HRPF fandom, and then I discovered hockey fights and started watching more clips and trying to learn more, and then, of course, Heated Rivalry hit. I was writing so much after the premiere that I didn't really have time for hockey, not until after the Olympics when my friend @jtimu and I started tossing the idea of seeing a game back and forth and then kind of ended up just going. I absolutely fell in love during my first game. I was hooked and it's been a rapid descent into madness since then.

16. If you could change, add, or remove a rule from the game, what would it be?

Double goalies! If you're up one in the last five minutes and want to make sure it doesn't go into OT, pull a skater and add a goalie. You should be able to have six goalies, if you want. Also, let goalies fight more. Flower, you were robbed.

24. Would you rather work for your team's social media (pitch/produce content) or general management (have a say in trades/drafting)?

Social media all the way. I'm too soft to trade people, I get attached. I wouldn't want to let anyone go. But asking players weird, random questions? God, sign me up. I'd be fired pretty quickly, probably, for asking way to existential, bizarre questions, though. Like: Marry, Fuck, Kill - your public persona, your idealized self, or your the parts of yourself you keep hidden?

Yeah, I'd be out quick.

I braced myself for another ctrl+f with zero results, but my goodness, I used cut three whole times in my hrpf mad max au wip. I'll need to watch out for that one!

Will stares up at the roiling bank of the clouds moving across the night sky, listening to the scuffle and grunt of Mack getting dragged closer, until both cut off with a single, sharp crack. A hard backhand across the face, if Will had to guess. Sure enough, when Mack thunks into the raft next to him a second later, his cheek is viciously red and his lower lip split and bleeding.

5. If you’re a fan for a team in a city you don’t live in, how did you pick them? If you’re a fan of your local team, do you follow any non-local teams?

I am a fan of my home team, the Kraken! But I'm also a fan of the team from my hometown area, the Sharks. I figure since I have a geographical claim to both places, I can get away with loving them both.

I also follow the Oilers for the drama, the Penguins for the Sid content, and have grown fond of the Canes after their cup run. My team tiers are:

Does my seven year old count? She caught an out of play puck at her first Kraken game and has been stanning the Kraken ever since. I have plans to indoctrinate my four year old, too.

Hockey asks: 25?

There's so much to love. I really enjoy the social aspect of it, watching with my hockey bud @jtimu is so fun and makes the games memorable. I also love the speed and intensity of the game. I'm never bored watching a game, and the two 20 minute intermissions are perfect (also, the three period structure makes it perfect to bring my kiddo to a game, she never gets bored, either). I also love picking up something new every time I watch. There's always something new to notice or learn or wonder about.

And the dudes slamming into one another and fighting is also great. Just going to come out and be problematic and say that I love a good fight.
