Blaine gaps at Sebastian’s honesty, flushing from the string of compliments. He has to force his mouth closed as he looks down at the table, processing everything. Sebastian’s shameless flirting never went unnoticed but all this time Blaine has chalked it up to part as his charisma. He is a flirtatious guy, probably talks to everyone like that, is what he tried to convince himself—but it seems that isn’t the case.
Hearing his feelings are reciprocated definitely makes it more difficult.
Blaine takes a long sip from his coffee, swallowing hard as he sets the cup back down, clenching it in his hands. He can’t quite meet the other man’s eye, isn’t sure how he can help with this because the only idea his brain is screaming is don’t marry her! but that is just too simple, isn’t it?
“What exactly would your father do if you called it off?” Blaine asks softly, although going off how Sebastian has talked about the other man in prior, he can guess, “Not to be an idealist but…shouldn’t you do whatever makes you happy?”
Sebastian realizes that he's digging a deeper hole by even admitting that he has an attraction to Blaine. He's making everything worse by doing that, and yet, he doesn't regret telling him, either. It's probably already obvious, given the reaction Blaine has. He half expects him to stand up, tell him he's fucked up, maybe throw his coffee at his face? and tell him not to contact him again.
But he doesn't do any of that at all.
He blushes, instead, which just makes Sebastian smile.
Sebastian shakes his head, letting out a soft laugh as he even considers what his father would do. "Well, he'd definitely fire me, which wouldn't be a big deal but...he's a decent lawyer in this city, he could blackball me. And," He lifts his hand, "Before you even ask--yes, my father would be that petty. He's not exactly a good father." He shrugs, "You get on with your dad?" he asks, mostly curious but...it'd be a nice semi-shift from this conversation.
