Combat:

A time before dodge rolling. Swipe, backstep block and overcome foes with patience and persistence. You can target specific body parts, and use elemental magic to defeat foes.

Should you buy this: YES

In my opinion the best liminal game out there. What I used to love about the backrooms was the uncertainty of what comes next and the weird nostalgic architecture and sound design (and both are absolutely amazing 10/10 in POOLS). The pool rooms, or the wet hallways used to be empty (and not overfilled with monsters and cheap jump scares) but you were never actually sure if something is lurking in the darkness. You always feel watched, but the pool rooms are kind to you.

Somebody with claustrophobia and fear of deep water I really enjoyed this game. it made me feel uneasy, I like that.

Game play Equipped with an zoom camera, you walk trough a maze of liminal pools rooms. Some are constructed in impossible ways, are huge or camped, or evoke nostalgia. You can slide down slides :p The game consist into 6 chapters (+ bonus chapter 0) of approximately 10 to 30 minutes play time each. Pro tip: You can adjust your walking and running speed in the game options (and many other things like colors, walking sounds, etc.). I personally like the walking speed but it is nice if you go back to collect achievements, or need to run trough levels quickly. For the first time I heavily recommend taking the atmosphere in, and not change the settings too much.

This game has a mobile port! The first chapter is free if you just want to try it out, maybe see if you feel like getting one of the other versions. After that mobile costs $9.99 for the full game.

Even on mobile the graphics are photorealistic and you leave puddles on the tile after wading in the water. My only gripe was that you’re meant to see the inside of the slides when you use them (based on others’ playthrough footage), but for me the inside was pitch black and I couldn’t make out the sliding animation until I reached the bottom.

There’s definitely something alive in there with you, but it never attacks you. You’re not going to run up on a man-eating entity.

The duck of eeriness and despair doesn’t do any damage, if you’re braver than me you can push it around in the water.

(Not my playthrough, I did not approach that thing 😅)

Anyways, in a sea of low poly graphics and simple clip art in mobile games, this is an insane find, highly recommend checking it out.

thank you for bringing this to my attention. I had to try it out right away, and the game feels and looks really good on mobile. Sadly it is not a mobile port, just iOS port (sorry android users :c).

Pools on apple store. This awesome liminal horror game has a ios port! It looks pretty much the same as the pc version with the exception of the slide animations is missing.

The fist chapter is free, and the full version costs $9.99. Sadly there isn't an android version available

best way to get that online shopping fix without actually spending any money is to just get really into a game with a super easy modding set up like cyberpunk 2077 and spend more time downloading random purely aesthetic mods (that you won’t even see cause it’s first person) than actually playing the game

Gameplay: Point and click with short mini games and few secrets to collect around the map.

Mini review/ opinions Amazing short adventure with loved poured into every scene. The mix of 3D and 2D is executed perfectly. This game gives me strong nostalgic vibes from old cartoons, which often mixed 2D and 3D in a way that really stood out—something you hardly notice anymore. Every scene is like a piece of art and all of the charters are quirky and lovable. It has so many elements that I love like early 2000s vibes, clowns, pure whimsy. The game also features such a fitting soundtrack, that has no right to slap that hard.

Wallpaper hack for Idlers

I tried this on: Ithya: Magic Studies

Do you want your idler to be wallpaper? You can absolutely do that with wallpaper engine. This won't work with every application and can get a bit buggy sometimes, or some functions might not work.

> Go to wallpaper engine and at the bottom click "Wallpaper editor"

> after click "create wallpaper" and locate and select the games .exe file.

finding the .exe: > go to your steam library > right click the game > properties > installed files > browse

Afterwards save the project and select it as your wallpaper.

WARNIG: Do not upload the wallpaper to steam workshop. Even is private wallpaper. It is illegal to share these files around. Best case the wallpaper will get taken down, worst case your account might get banned.

To close the game just change your wallpaper to different one. then you can start the game as normal again on steam.

With Ithya: Magic Studies everything works almost perfectly. The game even stars as normal on steam. So you can collect achievements and it will count towards your total play time.
