the post going around of polish mothers leaving strollers at the boarder for ukranian mothers broke me and i cannot stop thinking about it. a small but miraculous message of hope and compassion, on wheels. i imagined the wave of relief those tired arms felt, mothers desperate and afraid, getting off the train exhausted beyond measure and in need of a break, then that feeling of seeing a buoy, a small lighthouse in the shape of a stroller, sitting there, sparkling. when mothers help and lift up other mothers, magic happens. like deep, other worldly, beautiful magic. it’s our superpower, if only we’d all invest more positive energy into that instead of casting judgement or shame or self-righteousness. we are all just walking each other home, no?
