victim on victim violence
so funny to me when white american christians are like “ooh i incorporate my religious trauma into my art and thats why i draw these stained glass gothic church gold multi eyed reneissance sculpture angels agnus dei” like i know your protestant southern california ass didnt have any of that. go make some art about this
Damn way to read the assignment and go above and beyond.
the bleakness and sanitized feel of most American protestant churches really is an underused medium.
idk why tf the images were deemed to be ‘violating community guidelines’, but here’s what this post used to look like
i think a lot of people internalized the misogynistic idea that “men are rational and women are emotional” and just went “that’s true… but it’s a good thing!” instead of saying “that’s obviously bullshit and we shouldn’t perpetuate this belief in any form”
Seen a weird flipside in supposedly progressive spaces, where it's "men are emotional and form deep meaningful bonds with each other, and are curious and silly and like to explore the world around them in adventurous ways, but women are cold and rational and uptight and never take risks or break the rules."
This is often phrased in ways like "here's a video of men doing something silly but interesting – this is what boys will be boys should mean!" Or even simply tagging those videos "boys will be boys" as if the act of... I don't know, jumping on a trampoline covered in ice to see what happens, or whatever, is specifically gendered somehow just because the video happens to depict men
It's insidious, because it's framed as a positive thing – women are too ~intelligent and responsible~ to goof off with their friends; don't be offended!! But under the surface, it's still the idea that the thing men are doing is good and the thing women are doing is bad in this scenario
evil sick and twisted ppl going yess HAHAHA YESSSSSSSS
