I’m in plague and don’t know how Dom works, or Coli works, I’m just vibing and I hear everyone on my side is suffering, so I’m curious just.. why? That whole big ban was the only thing I really remember

Just wanted to ask how is Plague in terms of dom recently? I switched flights before shortly going into over half a year hiatus. When I left, Plague was becoming less active in dom. I recently got back to FR again, and I kinda miss Plague. But I’m a dom active person so I’d like to know if they’re more active again.

If you are anything like me you want to stand up for the plague members who got banned, but you are too scared to get banned by the staff. So, change your avatar, vista, sig to plague theme. Switch your broadcast to something vague like “fight back” or “I support Plague" 

If we can’t post on the forums about it, we can find another way.

Yes, I believe with all my heart that not all of them deserved it, but yes, I’m too scared to outright speak against it and loose the 150$ I spent on the site.

In lite of certain events with the unjust bans of Plague members, and any forum threads on the topic being instantly deleted, some of us non-Plague members have decided to join their gem boycott, and have changed our on-site broadcast messages to show them our support. I figured this might be as good a place as any to try and bring others in, as well

If you support Plague in this, it’d be cool if you changed your broadcast message to “I stand with Plague”

As someone in plague who’s really enjoyed the dominance scene for the whole time she’s been here (since 2014 or so)..

It’s absolutely heartbreaking to find out how our dominance stuff was wrecked by bans. Someone who’s been really involved w/plague dom for years recently posted an indepth explanation of it all, and…

A lot of the damage involved bans for “funneling”– which was just dom banking/currency distribution for dominance efforts. People getting a lot of currency and moving it around to other people, no foul play here, it’s an extremely common thing for dominance planning.. but I guess it just looked suspicious and unforgivable to staff. SoC was one of the big names hit by this, rumors abound and all but afaik they were just buying a ton of gems and distributing it for dominance efforts.

From there, a lot of people in plague dom either just dropped off the face of the earth, some gave up the ghost and tried donating their stuff to dom banks and also got their accounts locked for the same weird-looking activity… and it’s been horribly silent ever since. We were scrambling like mad for Riot of Rot, trying to pick up the pieces, but it just wasn’t the RoR 2018 we all hoped for.

The same ban wave hit fire’s dom bank, as we all know. That shit hurts no matter who you are: that’s a ton of currency and resources for dominance efforts just gone. And there’s no way for anyone but the user themselves to know for certain why they got locked. The rest of us play on hearsay and try to explain it as illicit activity, sure, but who knows what’s the truth?

Does this just mean that the days of dom banks are over, due to the possibility of the concept looking like funneling to the staff?

Dom banks are a super useful concept for dominance, being able to distribute large amounts of currency to receivers and snipers so they can support their flight. And that doesn’t look like funneling at all, but the process of building up and donating sure might.

I can hope that, maybe, staff will give us some official feature that facilitates resource-amassing for dominance, but… by swinging at dom banks, they’re really just hurting a key part of the dominance game.

So, I just came back from a multi-year hiatus and I’m kinda disappointed with the way dom pushes are ran now…? Other than SvF, there’s only been art for fodder, no public buys, no dragons for ticket raffles… is this the new norm? How long has it been like this? You would expect flights to really be pushing hard for NOTN weeks of all weeks … (anyone remember the clusterfuck that was IvF for a NOTN week a couple years ago?) but there’s just a JOINT art for fodder thread for the flights pushing… is it always like this now? I wanna get back into making dragon cash from pushes!

Dominance is shit

I hate that Earth is most likely going to get quad-dom. I hate that Light previously got triple dom (and I was formerly in Light at that time, too) - it set a horrible precedent. Honestly double dom is all that should have been permitted by the staff to begin with, setting aside the fatigue mechanism (which is obviously useless nowadays on the ultra-competitive flights, especially Earth).

I don’t hate Earth members, I don’t hate Light members. But I wish they kinda had some fucking decency. Sure, you get your festival. An extra dom week before or after is cool too. But hogging an entire month (or almost a whole month) on the top of a leaderboard in a game just looks really bad. Like, it looks gross. Seriously, what kind of huge fucking ego drives towards that? Cue the Earth dom players saying ‘we were just putting in our normal efforts, and when someone else does want to conquest, we lay down and roll over to let them win it so that we don’t get in the way’.

Say what you want. Earth is the least popular aesthetic on the site and the snobby elitists and coli-heavy trainers being the ‘face’ of the flight (even if they’re not in reality) because that’s what drives them to dom wins  just makes it look like a tight little clique.

Light Flight NEVER Conquests Anymore and it SUCKS

Crazy dom person here. I LOVE dom and Light flight and will never leave, but frankly it’s getting kind of depressing when it comes to Dom. There have been polls for our flight pushes, and so much of our flight didn’t want to conquest. It seems like Light Flight doesn’t do much conquest anymore, which was the funnest part for Light Flight dom for me.

I mean I love money and profit pushes pretty much guarantee that, but it gets dull after a while. I remember back when we were doing conquests left and right and every year we’d have like 2-3 conquests, but now it’s just like “nah, let’s not fight Earth, there isn’t enough time to prepare because their numbers are so small and if they get outside help we’re pretty much fucked so let’s not”. Shadow ended up fighting Fire too, so we can’t fight them … but most of the flight just wanted to profit push.

I feel like most of the damn flight just cares about money, and they don’t even want to do Dom for like … the competition. We haven’t had a good conquest ALL year … it’s just “save money save money”. It’s boring.

I remember back in the day when everyone wanted glory and a name for ourselves and we were climbing up in the ranks as a big dom powerhouse, but it seems like after we got it everyone started moving from other flights just because money lul ez, and now we have a bunch of casual dom folk that just want money but don’t want to be a part of the community that comes with you know, ACTUALLY CONQUESTING.

Conquest is so fucking nice and no one in my flight wants to do it anymore. The staying up late, pouring hours into sniping and training and working as a team for that eventual win IS dom for me. The stress, the scramble, the text channels blowing up … That’s what dom is. Not this stupid ass “oh let’s just profit push we like money lul”. It’s BORING. It’s been this way for like two years it seems. (Although it’s probably just been one year, honestly).

Light kinda feels like it’s too scared to lose now, honestly. Let us fight, come on! Glitter and Glory!

But no … after we lost to Earth it kinda feels like we’re just scared now. We don’t wanna conquest, we just want money. :c No more fights for us. 

This is also kind how I feel about dom is general. No one wants to fight anymore. It’s just this cesspool of profit pushing except for an occasional fight … it’s boring. Everyone’s afraid of pushing and losing now and it’s not what I remember dom battles used to be in the first years of Flight Rising’s life.

Is this how people feel about casual gamers?

Um... what? Light has conquested 3 times in 2018: -Feb. 4th to 10th. -April 1st-7th -Oct. 7th-13th And Light won all 3 of those. Only Earth and Ice conquest pushed more often (4 times each).

You’re talking about the smallest Flight, by the way. The reason why Earth keeps winning is because the vast majority of them are active and passionate about the game, enough that they can maintain a solid Dom bank for major pushes and battles, which is no easy task when you are outnumbered five to one. Meanwhile monster flights like Arcane have members falling off the face of Sornieth like rain drops in monsoon season.

If you have a problem with the “little guy” being a faster runner than you, then maybe you need to start exercising again, hmm?

Earth Dom

Honestly, stop fucking complaining about Earth reaching for Quad Dom.

I don’t think they were even planning on pushing four weeks but it just happened (or is happening …it doesn’t entirely mean they’ll succeed). 

It’s just getting exhausting seeing all this hate over a flight winning Dom. If you like winning flights, then move to one instead of crying like a bitch.

The only reason why your flight isn’t at the top of the board is because

1. Y'all are too lazy to get your team together

2. Disorganized

3. Flight is full of little kids 

4. No funds, cuz the Dom bank doesn’t grow itself. It takes a community effort to win.

Stop bashing on flights that put EFFORT into winning. Don’t EVER expect to get free handouts.

You guys did this to Light too, and now Earth. Since Earth is on top now, all the hate towards light shifted to Earth.  The shitty aprt is the fact that some Light users actually are annoyed because they’re no longer on top.
