@aidcneus // " you have proven yourself far more worthy of this than i could have imagined. "
It's strange, to be on the receiving end of praise from Emet-Selch of all people. Yet here they stand, in a field of flowers malms and malms from the star he calls home. Given all the factors - overcoming these odds, his friends presence, their location and the flowers he'd only ever dared hope to see again - Ambrose supposes that it is within the realms of possibility after all; that perhaps, for one fleeting moment, he was deserving of the praise given.
After all; coming from the elder, it felt more genuine than any he'd received prior; more earned.
" ... Thank you. " He looks around, lavender hues taking all of it in and realising now that it's all said and done, they're probably going to have to go. Part of him wants to ask Emet-Selch to stay; to be selfish just once and see if his new-old friends would oblige. He's sure Hythlodaeus would....Emet-Selch, he isn't so sure. Not because he thinks the ancient dislikes him; but rather that he knows the longing for rest all too well.
Maybe they'll both get to rest after all of this.
Instead of asking; he takes tentative steps closer. A look to Hythlodaeus first, and then to Hades. " Will I see you again? After this, I mean. " I'd like to. Goes unsaid; though the look he gets from Hythlodaeus tells Ambrose that he understands the implication.
" Both of you, that is- If I'm to explore," and perhaps here, he can be taken as only half-joking; for the look he shoots up at Emet-Selch is pure mischief; eyes twinkling in a way not so different from an old friend. If this is to be goodbye; he'd have it be one he can smile upon.
"I'll need a tour guide. "
