I made my first lino cut :D after a frame of "La mort de Robespierre" (by the most talented @revolutionarywig )

The prints turned out blotchy and a bit faint because i used oil paint :')

(By no means am i trying to be historically accurate, i am in the middle of learning how to use a sewing machine, this is just for fun. Also this is just a base, ill "halloween-ify" it later)

Required changes:

Cut out the cunty abdomen part (where the vest peeks thru on the inspo pics)

Do something with the collar to make it taller

Id like to remove the boob darts in the future but rn thats sadly above my skill level.

Sew down the storm patch over the right breast area (bc again, removing it is a bit more advanced)

Remove excess buttons, pocket zippers, epaulets

Parts removed. I cut below the bottom button and pinned up where i wanted to sew down the middle part (later i cut it further up, below the middle button, i didnt measure it so it ended up being a bit to high).

I pushed a wire through the collar to make it posable (this is up for correction bc it looks a bit flimsy).

Testing out how it looks halfway through, with both a brown and a black vest:

Next i added two pairs of buttons, so it would be held together with more than just one. I also made a cockade (one with the red-, and one with the blue stripe outside. Idk which one's more accurate).

I hit the image limit, so to be continued!

i kinda wanted it to look like one of those martyrdom portraits where they're depicted with the thing that kills them (in this au he dies by fire ofc), but sadly the backround got a bit muddled, so it doesn't look like fire at all.
