I hate to do this but I have to remake our donation post as it has completely lost traction. We are in need of donations so we can get our car fixed up and help save my teeth. Our windshield wipers are no longer working, the door handles are broken so we have to use the passenger window to open the door from the other side while the driver side window cannot be opened because it’s broken so the passenger has to open the other door to let the driver out, and the power steering fluid has been leaking for a long time and we have wasted money to refill it and using other products to help stop it instead of simply getting it fixed. And, lastly, my teeth have been a bad condition from a time in my life I was mentally and physically incapable of taking care of myself and I have had to have four teeth pulled rather than fixed because it was cheaper. Any extra money will be going to helping me keep the rest of my teeth and fix them up.

Today, January 27, 2017, marks 72 years since the Soviet army liberated the Auschwitz concentration camp in Nazi occupied Poland. Today we remember the worst of humanity: genocide. Today we remember all the victims and survivors of the Holocaust. We remember the roughly 11 million people (1.1 at the Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp) who were slaughtered simply for who they were and those who were imprisoned, and sometimes killed, for what they believed.

The Nazi regime murdered an estimated 6 million Jewish people, 2 million Romani people, 250,000 mentally and physically disabled non-Jewish/non-Romani people, and 9,000 non-Jewish/non-Romani gay men all in the furtherance of white supremacy and “racial purity.”

Today we remember them all and continue to fight against fascism, totalitarianism, and white supremacy so that this never again happens.

Meet Sarya: she was experiencing a mental health crisis. Police came and tackled her. She is 15.

Saraya Rees is a 15 year old biracial girl from Coos County, Oregon. After being abruptly instructed to stop taking her antidepressants by a local pediatrician, Saraya went into psychosis. In her manic state, Saraya poured a small amount of gasoline on the floor. Her parents called Coos Health & Wellness in hope that that would send mental health advisors, Coos Health & Wellness sent the police. While still in psychosis, the officers arrested her, questioned her without her family or lawyers present, charged with attempted murder and assault, and sent her to juvenile prison for 11 years.

This is not justice.

This is inhumane.

WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP:

Call these people and demand that she be let go to the custody in her parents.
